Who took Iran to 2 back to back World Cups again (the 2014 FIFA World Cup, 2018 FIFA World Cup). And who took Iran to both of these tournaments and qualified Iran as group leaders. Not qualifying from a group with 4 teams during a time when we had arguably 4 top European players already at our disposal. Qualifying to the Workd Cup under Japan was it? 🤔

Carlos didn’t qualify Iran with a Mehdi Mahdavikia, an Ali Karimi, a helicopter in Vahid Hashemian in his team. Instead he cut Sardar Azmoun from 2014 World Cup and told him that he wasn’t ready yet. He told him, “Don’t worry, you will be Iran’s next star”. How much work did Branco put in Mahdavikia, Karimi, Hashemian, and Azizi again as opposed to the roster that took us to Brazil 2014? 🤔 I mean I’m just saying, if we are considering everything we have to consider every statistic.

And lastly, why are we comparing club statistics with the national team statistics? Are they the same? Does Team Melli play 1-2 matches every week?

Yeah he left Iran like Ghotbi. I was a fan of Ghotbi too. Those who know me on this forum called me a fanboy of him because I admired his positive nature. But even Ghotbi left Iran without talking. I didn’t like that about Ghotbi either. However I respect Carlos for talking and saying everything. I think Carlos lacked a filter from day 1 lol. Whether it was in a good way or a bad way, at least Carlos spoke the truth without politicking his words. This was something I did not appreciate from Branko and Ghotbi. Although Ali Daei was not right for the job, he and Ghalenoei at least talked about their situation after.
