I found something interesting about the Australian refree. He has only officiated 8 international friendly matches all his career and 5 of those were in Japan at the invitation of the Japanese Football Federation. I’m not sure how I feel about this and it worries me that Japan may have had some influence on this appointment through AFC.

Interesting find but it's probably because of the East Asia cup that he reffed those games.

Japan also lost two of the games he officiated for them one of them 2:0 win for Ghana and one a 4:1 win for South Korea.

AFC make some really strange decisions. Why not someone with more experience for such a match like
Irmatov?

pls no, don't give Japan that much respect, they're not that good, we should play our own game, Japan should fear us. Don't want to see bs game like 2011 against South Korea, they showed way too much respect.
