Admittedly, this Asian Cup has been one of the best in terms of the officiating and surprise packages. I haven’t seen too many blatantly biased calls—there was one in the Japan-Oman game.

Also, with VAR being implemented, there seems to be a willingness to let the players determine the outcome of the match.

I still don’t fully trust the AFC but all the signs so far seem to suggest that we will have a clean rest of the tournament.

In my opinion, Korea and Japan have benefited a great deal in playing in their own countries (home team advantage).

It is time for West Asia to shine in their own countries.

There were a lot of poor decisions that helped UAE actually.

I was honestly cheering for Korea at the end because that's one team we know we can beat, rinse and repeat and beat again!

Not to mention that Qatar's performance has been absolutely phenomenal in this tournament... they are the only team other than us who have not conceded a single goal!

And if that's not impressive enough, they have 5 straight wins just like us and have scored as many times as we have... 12-0 is their record!

And if that's not impressive, consider who their opponents have been... South Korea (the team that beat Germany in the WC) vs. China for us, Iraq, Saudi Arabia cs. - not to mention they have the tournament top scorer!

Honestly, I'm more worries about playing them in the final than Japan in the semis... remember they coach won the AFC U-19 with them in 2014.
