CQ has actually changed our football though. Can't you see that? Just a total paradigm shift in iranian football from one pole to the other. Surely someone who has had such a positive impact on the future of our football, sowing seeds for our infrastructure in many different ways, needs to have some kind of appreciation. What's more, in a country which is a pariah state.

Branko put iranian football back 10 years in more than a dozen different ways. Khomeini put the country back a few centuries. Sure, they both have personality cults, but i don't think they are as beneficial for iran and iranians. At least in Branko's case, apart from the Mobali-Dynamo Zagreb bung business he isn't necessarily as bad as some think, but he has some very dirty characters behind him.

      Reminds of this:

British Foreign Office in colonial days said: “Keep the Persians hungry, and the Arabs fat." If you keep the Persians full, they would rise up. Keeping the Persians hungry was a guarantee that they wouldn't rise up.

True in our politics, society and our football. Carlos has kept us too full, for too long. So instead of appreciating him and reaching newer and higher heights, we dethrone him and push him out.

      Iran is f**ed for life.

With this TM and this great coach CQ, reaching the finals is the minimum thing
        we should expect.

Calling CQ a “world class coach” is a joke. The guy is a fraud.
Look at his record for the first four years.
By the end of the 2014 world cup he had a 48% win rate playing average 99 rank teams.
By the end of the 2011 Asian cup he had a 53% win rate playing average 98 rank teams.

Now compare that to Afshin Ghotbi (arguably our worst coach in the last 15 years) who had a 53% win rate playing average 85 rank teams.
And this was with basically the same teams except CQ also had Dejagah and Gucci.

And after that CQ was blessed with the most talented and stacked generation in the history of team melli while our opponents clearly dropped in quality (Korea, Uzbekistan).

Look how he got out coached by Katanec against Iraq a few days ago. Real world class.

And now this “world class coach” is dragging the team into hashiye in the middle of the tournament. And for what? Cause he wants a 4 year contract extension.

“World class” my ass. The guy is fighting tooth and nail trying to stay in Iran because he knows what’s awaiting him on the other side. No team from any decent league would even look at him. And if he goes to another national team, they would throw him out the instant him opens him mouth. Just like UAE, just like Portugal, Just like South Africa.

You think others are gonna just sit around while the guy shits on them? They have pride. Maybe some of you should go look that up in the dictionary.

            Tehranto and others

Stop saying that about our nation please , Iran is NOT f**ked.

We have very educated, savy people now comparing to 40 years ago.
Just to give you an idea , our literacy rate of the eniter Iran, in 1978 was %37
            Now, we are at %95

Lets not have this tiny misinfirmation campaign by Khiyabani dictate how the rest
of our people think and act.

This is totally off topic. How does CQ make Iranians full when we have hungry workers striking on the streets? I get your comparison but it is rather not right. There are many people who don't care about football because they are hungry.

CQ has a consistent performance with his defensive tactics and he is a world class manager. There are many better managers out there who can lift team melli even higher, if they get the chance. I am not sure we can find someone like CQ with this regime, but a manager with more offensive tactic might work for us. I don't say Branko or Kranjar.

You can be literate yet be an idiot/lack logic. There is no correspondence between literacy and logic. Everyone's literacy has skyrocketed in last 40 years, even Afghanistan.

We are cultural very messed up man - go look at social media and look at the state of Iran. It's in a terrible state and things have only gotten worse. Khiabani and Persepolis fans/players are not the only problem.

                  We are frighteningly unappreciative.

He may not be a "world class" coach, fine, but he had done wonders for us. If you can't see that then I'm sorry you are so myopic.

But for many, whether or not he is hot-headed or irrational when dealing with the press, he is the man for a nation. We could not have had a better eight years than we have had with him.

                  https://thesefootballtimes.co/2017/0...-for-a-nation/

As Sarbaz says, if we don't win the cup this time (refereeing corruption and IR presidential decree notwithstanding) then we are never likely to.

Saying he has made us full is metaphorical man - what are you saying? How is CQ related to hungry and poor Iranians?

Please don't take this wrong way. You seems very passionate and educated about Iran on general forums and a color blind when it comes to Carlos vs Branko and Persepolis. I wish you and many other passionate fans use words more carefully. For example not insulting all PP fans or players. Thank you.

These are some truly disgusting times in our football all these clowns like seyyed jalal, alipour, etc. should be ASHAMED of themselves ESPECIALLY hosseini who benefited so much from CQ and his system for so many years. We have praised him a lot for his performances but IMO when its all said and done you're not only judged by your skills on the pitch but your character off the pitch and this attack is truly, truly disgusting! TM is sacred for all iranians and in the time of this tournament to brew this kinda sh!tstorm you really deserve to be called a vatanforoush for damaging the team - khaaaaaak to sare hosseini, alipour, branko, khiabani, and every single other a-hole with an agenda!

I can see it clearly that Seda Sima and sport ministry are kicking Carlos out. It is obvious for anyone with a half brain, but what can we do? Carlos' character doesn't help him either. 8 year with team melli was good for him and us, now the situation is awful for him to remain.
