Just spoke with the referee of the Lebanon-Saudi game. Said he's terrified the Saudis will do to him what they did to Khashoggi if he doesn't call all 50-50s in their favor and give them a couple of cheap penalties.

Come to think of it, I am almost convinced the AFC's decision not to have VAR in the group stages is probably a calculated decision so they can control who goes through to the knockout stages.

Also, I seriously doubt the Saudi-Emirati coalition in the AFC will allow Iran to win the title on Arab soil given the current political climate. I am looking forward to being proven wrong on this one.

Very possible. But unless the Saudis plan on murdering 23 well known Japanese players in the locker room they are leaving at R16.

Not trying to sound like a snob but some of the goalkeeper and outfield play in this Asian Cup is seriously the clumsiest I've ever seen at the "professional" level. The next level down from this is Solomon Islands and Tonga.

LOL, the Lebanese keeper is a trip. He punched a ground cross into the air in the first half, yeah you read that right. He is the epitome of suckage. I don't think he has caught any balls all game. Everything that comes his way, he tries to punch away.

I reckon he, Yemeni keeper, and the Kyrgyzstan's goalie could be in a dream team...FOR ME TO P00P ON!!!!
