TM shocked the world by getting 4 points in a WC group that included former WC and European champions. We will continue on our path to shock Asia, with a resounding dominance despite every road block the world has thrown at us. In the words of a great poet, “It’s [TM] against the world”

Iran has played in some epic games at Asian Cup over the years. Fantastic wins, and some heart breaking losses. You gotta love the theatre of sports...even if it Ben Williams making dumb decisions with Red cards haha.

I think Iran will likely get to the 1/4 finals but bow out to a twam with better forwards. We cant score goals, simple truth. Iran also has a horrible record in penalty shoot outs and I think once again, this may come to haunt us although we have a wonderful goalie this time around.

For me though, the team that is wayyyy overdue to win it is actually South Korea and I wish them the best. My outsider is Iraq or Jordan as they both play with a full head of steam and just push and push forward with no structurw or defense

so why do you feel this way ?

I predict TM to win it all.
First off thats Not saying much ...!! and quit repeating CQ got all he asked for in terms of preparations for AC, as he clearly claimed in another piece that he originally requested 10 test matches ... and we played like 5-7 max?

Why do you predict such negative outcome ?
Asian Cup 2007, 2011 and 2015: all three a QF exit.

Well that would be desaster and iranian football would fall into deep depression.
Obviously CQ try to take pressure from our boys, since he understands the iranian soul. We cant control
our emotions and under pressure we will srew everything (the main reason why we loose nearly all penalties.)
Therefore, when he speaks about the superiority of Australia, Japan and Korea i expect him to decrease the pressure
but deep in his mind he knows that ( at least from my point of view) that its our time to win it all.
If we manage to top our group we will have a good opportunity to get into the semis. From there luck is indeed needed but
we are at least on par with Australia/Japan (based on the recent peformance in the WC).
We iranians tend to live in a "if-world", iran would be the greatest country if, we would win it all if, If we had friendlies/no financial issues we would
be top 10 in the world etc. To many ifs, its time to deliver and be honest with our selfs.

I expect final at least, but that has been my expectation forever.

There are 2 factors that have always stopped us or else we would have had at least 7 titles.
    1) Referees (1988, 1996, 2004, 2015)
    2) Penalty kicks (1984, 1996, 2004, 2007, 2015)

Just pray these two don't happen to us again, otherwise I am confident we can win.

it has taken CQ 8 years to build this machine. the time is now. lets end the fcking drought
Australia - The only real blow to them is Mooy's injury. Arzani is still a raw talent and wasn't expected to play a key role.
Japan - Still they have better players than us. Their new guys look very talented.
South Korea - Wrong. They sent an almost full strength squad. 18 out of their 23 players have double-digit caps.

If AFC doesn't interfere I'm sure we gonna win this whole thing. Unfortunately we've made too many bad experiences with the refs. I'm more worried about the refs than Japan, Australia, Korea etc.

Talk about taking the rivalry to the next level! Australia is weak our B team almost beat them a few weeks ago the game ended 1-1. Japan Golden Age is over. Their best players are now old and retired from national team.

Yeah, Korea looked very strong recently. Iran-Korea Final would be Epic.
