that dude was the Best player on the pitch when we played them at WC....! Amiri shoulda been awarded MVP for knocking that pesky fker outa the game..! dare say we woulda lost the game to morroco had he managed to play full 90..!!
        ps
didnt know he had a footballer brother either..!! i thought it was the dude who scored the winner for us, who had a footballer brother..!!?? or was it both..?

Nordin Amrabat was the one you're describing at the beginning, he is a really good footballer who has chosen to waste his remaining career in the land of the 8-0ers.

The one who scored the own-goal is his younger brother Sofyan Amrabat who came on as a substitute. He plays with Kaveh in Club Brugge. He is not as talented as his brother but will forever remain a legend in Iranian football history imho.

His brother didn't score the own goal. Aziz Bouhaddouz did.

Sofyan Amrabat was the one who gave away the freekick that led to the own goal.

                  Kaveh on the bench still

Fudge...Wesley, Kavehs direct competition just scored to make it 2-1

Last sub used aswell, no Kaveh today.

Kaveh is nowhere near Wesley level

                        Yep my mistake.

Injury at the wrong time deals a big blow to a player's career.
Hopefully Kaveh will try harder to regain his spot.

HE, imo, is capable of pushing himself to achieve that.
But cant say that for many other Iranians!
Maybe the problem is the ceiling of ambition among most Iranians players.

we see this is majority of our lads.
They kill themselves in IPL to make a name, lead to TM and be visible. Then, they think the moment they go to a European team, they can get their foot off the gas and cruise!!
little do they know they ought to be killing themselves even MORE than!

So they're hired for their intensity and energy and effort. But all these are lowered when they actually practice or play for these clubs.
so they slowly get relegated to bench, then stands, then bussed back to Iran (or PG leagues)!!!!

apart from only a handful like Daei, Kia, JB, Nekunam & maybe VH, I cant remember any of our lads KILLING themselves at their euro clubs.

even Ansarifard, who has revitalized himself and made a success of his career in Greece. I really am not convinced he really KILLED himself on the ptch (as brits say, leave it all on the pitch. something they NEED to see if they want to pick you).
Not Azmoun, or hajsafi, or Ezatollahi, or … . NONE of these looked to be pushing themselves to the limit.

So it is more an attitude problem.
And perhaps willingness to learn, adapt (pick up local languages. which seems to be so hard for Iranians?????)

Club Brugge vs. Genk on Feb. 17th, 5:30am PST.

Hopefully, Kaveh will start/sub in, as his team just played in the Europa League and he was an unused sub.
