Hopefully he has a team around him talking to other potential clubs in Holland whilst he is there.

This is all good. First and foremost, its real, he is on the pitch showing what's he made of. Secondly, even if he doesn't make it, the experience is very valuable and will stay with him. Let's acknowledge that in spite of all the rumors back and forth he has a shot at signing with PSV.

      Go Younes!

Teams like PSV almost always want a trial before they sign youth players. However they do tons of trials a year, probably only 10% gets an actual contract.

Younes Delfi (18) after his first practice match for # PSV . The Iranian did not score, Belarusian Kiril Kirilenko did. PSV under 19 won 3-2 against Roda JC. (thx @ RJDM854 )

          Rik Elfrink added,

Apparently, he didn't do too great in the game. He was trying to show too much ...

not surprising really. Hopefully they saw enough potential to take him though.

                  1) except rezaeian, have an iranian ever had a succesful trial?

for those who didnt i remember they never played in europe after that trial (sheys rezaei and stuttgart, jabbari and grenoble, taha so far and psv)

Our players should no longer tire themselves for trials that never go through. PSV would sign a Japanese nobody from some J-League club immediately without any shitty trials.

If you would have read my previous post, you would know that the majority of trials end up with nothing, this has nothing to do with being Iranian.
Also vast majority of youth players are acquired only after a trial.

The Japanese player comment also makes no sense as PSV 1 has never had a Japanese player, 2 Even had doubts about getting Honda after he showed he is a class player in the Eredivisie, 3 Every Japanese, or S. Korean player for that matter, in the Eredivisie has been a success (1 or exceptions).

^So? Didn't you read that eitherway people have to do trials and most of trials end up in nothing? Or that there weren't many (non at all in PSV's case) Japanese players in the Eredivisie to begin with?

I don't see what point you are trying to make..

Eredivisie teams just don't have enough money to spend on non EU players in the hope that they might succeed. They only go for players from proven markets such as Netherlands itself, Belgium, Scandinavia and occasionally S. America.

Like I explained even Honda who was probably one of the best players in the Eredivisie and Japanese, so a potential cashcow in the Asian market, was too big of a risk for Dutch clubs to invest in.

This has nothing to do with racism or badwill towards Iran, but the fact that smaller leagues are just not rich enough to import a lot of players from unknown markets and our players are just not good enough to directly go to top leagues who can afford to take that risk (except of Karimi).

how a small club like NEC bought JB directly then?

                            Comment

NEC is in no way or field comparable with PSV they are in no position to demand trials from youth Internationals that have already played more than a whole season in a professional league.

Furthermore NEC found a way to pay Jahanbakhsh less because a student work permit or something and they didn't pay a big sum to Gilan Damash. So the risk wasn't thaat high either..

And in the end, NEC bought JB for it's first team. Delfi is nowhere near PSV's first team, he will be bought for the youth teams and like I said 3 times now, most players bought for youth teams have to do a trial first.

Also if you like to discuss the point that everybody hates Iranians and that's why they don't pick m after trials, please stick to that point. Your last two posts had nothing to do with that subject. It would be wise to also think why on earth this racist clubs would make effort and spend money to invite Iranian players on trials if they already know they gonna reject them because the hate Iranians. Does that make sense in your mind?

Let's just hope Delfi makes it instead of being this negative already.

tbh, Delfi has been a bit disappointing in last 7-8 months, putting too much unnecessary pressure on 17 years old kid to be the wonder one is not helping either. That is why some one like Allahyar progressing better, despite playing for a big club. Again as i have said that many times, the progress of young prospect is a big mystery, no one can't predict anything, unless you are Ronaldo, Messi, etc.
