A call to boycott Nike products should Nike continue its discriminatory policies

FIFA World Cup, the greatest sporting event on the planet, is set to start in less than a week. World Cup provides a perfect chance for the nations of the world to come together, to set
aside their differences and compete on a Football field instead of a battlefield.
Bringing the world together, fighting racism and discrimination are among FIFA's clearly stated goals in its mission statement.
With this in mind, we find the decision of Nike Inc, to impose sanctions on Iranian Football players, and its refusal to provide the Iranian Team with Football equipment shocking and contrary to the spirit of FIFA and the World Cup. Nike has stated its decision was inline with unilateral
sanctions imposed by the U.S president Donald Trump against the Iranian Government.
Iran’s national football team’s head coach, Carlos Queiroz, has called on FIFA to intervene stating, “Players get used to their sports equipment, and it’s not right to change them a week before such important matches,... We call on FIFA to come to our help in this issue,” [https://www.rferl.org/a/getting-the-...29278313.html]
Nike is an international corporation. The sanctions are imposed by the Trump administration, and not the international community nor the U.N) against certain Iranian government entities. As Football fans, we wonder why/how Nike has determined that these unilaterally imposed sanctions are also applicable to Sporting entities and individual players?
We as football fans would like to ask Nike to respect and promote the spirit of the World Cup games and stop discriminating against Iranian Football players immediately. The world is watching and unfortunately a call to boycott of Nike products would be the only alternative, should Nike decide to continue with its current practice.
