The more I watch the 2nd goal, the more I realize that the 2nd goal was basically Masoud and Beiro's fault. First Masoud's poor defending led to the assist, secondly, Beiro was way out of position, came out way too early. Cheshmi actually closed down on the attacker and narrowed his angle. If Beiro had stayed in his net, that ball would be saved.

Good damn it Beiro, I really want to like you, but you make it so hard.

it was all 3's fault..!! massoud lost possession, Cheshmi was in a hurry to get back and was still getting defensively set, still looking to his sides in order to assess where to hold his D/offside-line, that he neglect to mark much closer & put a body on Tuson(the most advanced attacker and simply the most dangerous and threatening Turkey player) and then as you mentioned, the biggest mishap on that conceded goal was that of Bei getting caught way off his line, making it easy for Tuson to slot the ball in..!
it was either just a momentary brain-fart..? or possibly sensing that Tuson could attempt to round Cheshmi again, advanced forward to intercept..?

anyways, it wouldnt be a goal if usually a combination of Gk/Defensive miscues dont occur prior..!

Just saw highlights on youtube, the comments are negative about iran, we had to take it serieusly against turkey, az torkaye chos bakhtiem, in the name of "friendly" game, aberumun raft.

Thats exactly what makes me said. The players, fans, stuff speak about Turkey as if
they are european giants... (They are not weven europeans wheter from linguistic, cultural,
historical or religios aspect).
We were able to made decent game against Russia and Venezuela, why not against Turkey?

During the Game when Turks score against us the fans scream towards the fans and made
insultive gestures. Tractorsazi fans are in the stadium waving with azerbaijan&turkey flag.
If we have a real historical and modern archrival than it is turkey. Many Turks that i have
met are constantly trying to steal our historical/cultural heiratage claiming
Rumi, Ibn Sina Safavid etc. were turkish in origin.

It is frustrating but anyway lets hope that CQ take some nodes from that game.

It was a friendly, against a team that was better than the teams we played in the past few matches. CQ tested many things in this game and will learn from this experiments. Calm down. We play week teams some of you complain. Then we play a better teams you complain still complain. To be honest I am not sure when you wouldn't complain?
AND stop using this friendly as an excuse to keep saying bring back this player or that player or why you didn't invite this or that. CQ has made his choice and it needs to be respected.
If you don't like how our TM played maybe you can watch Saudi Arabia against Italy highlights :-)
I am not saying don't let your opinion known, but respect the coach and his decisions.
Plus all our WC opponents are now going to underestimate our TM and will be in the dark in relation to how we are actually going to play.

Dude, we have played Russia, Venezuela, Tunesia, Algeria who are AT LEAST on par with Turkey and
we did good/ok against Russia and Venezuela/Algeria.
Why everyone made Turkey like a giant!?

Cheshmi cannot be blamed for both goals ..if you rewind the game to a few minutes before each goal you would realize that it was the team that failed to protect against the attack.

I just watch the highlights again and beside our silly defensive mistakes i noticed that we could create
one single chance with a constructive-passing build up.
All our chances are after a set-peice or after accidental ait battles
that give usw the ball near the turkish box.
I couldnt see any attacking plan. Contrary to that the turks
creat their chances through short-quick passes and creative teamplay.
Yesterdays game reminds me on TM beforethe CQ Time when we just score on setpieces and long thow-in into the box.

I think we did better than most people thought at the last WC. We came very close to beating the WC runners up.
We could've easily won the Asian Cup too if the Aussi ref didn't screw us over

yes, it was a chain of events that happened before it got to Cheshmi, But, ultimately you need your CB to make those stops. That's their job much like a striker that doesn't score goals is really not doing his job

I love beiravand, he can be world class and amateur at the same time. It doesn't matter who is playing defense if your goalie will have a brain fart like Beira did on that second goal.

just watched the game.

1st, as many have said, this is a warm up game and the result isn't that important.
HOW we play is more important.

seeing CQ switch so many positions like Karim's, Shojaei's, Taromi's, ... I tend to think he was just trying to focus on individual fitnesses rather than positional plays. at least for a few players.
That also may indicate he's not trying to show his true FIRST/MAIN team line up yet. Or even his preferred formation.


secondly - I seriously doubt Cheshmi will get to play along PAG for the main games. We'll see Montazeri to give us a experience-energy combo in the center.



third - whlle Rezaeian did ok, But I still believe Ghafouri would have done this & then some. So I still cant explain dropping him.


fourth - RGN doubters were shown why he's included. His timing, poaching instincts and positional abilities were the reason for the goal as well as many other instances where he put their defense in pressure and was a constant threat or nuisance.
in other words, the same old RGN we've come to admire.
(although I would have loved to see Rezaei also called up. But I understand CQ couldn't put him above anyone else)



All in all, I thik this was a useful test for TM.
exposed some flaws that CQ will surely address. Also our attacking in 2nd half with more players in their rightful posts (Dejagah, Amiri, … ) and penetrating the turks backline, showed promise.
Lets not discount this Turkey team. They are still European regulars in pretty good leagues




IF our final game is to be played behind closed doors, which I think will be, I'm pretty sure CQ would be using his main team, formation, tactics, … (for the morocco game). That would give CQ te best idea of what we're capable of.

I watched the highlights. It's a mystery to me why Iranian players are not able to keep shots on target... It can be achieved by relentless practice. Also need to perfect scenarios for the set pieces. Much to do in these last two weeks! Complacency needs to be rid of.
