Hosseini is an Iranian Legend like Krimi, Daei, Nekounam, Mahdavikia and so on but now he ist too old. We can't play with him against Silva, D.Costa, Ronaldo and co.
I never expected such a good display from M.Hosseini. I think he was just too good. PAG and M.Hosseini will be a good Duo

Seyed Jalal dropped because of age and speed, although I love the guy and think he would've been a great morale boost to the squad in general with his leadership qualities and gheyrat. Ghafouri I think should also be in the squad in place of khanzadeh or even Rezaeian (i rate him better than both). But again khanzadeh is maybe more versatile in the back 4 than Ghafouri.

Overall I disagree with those two not being in the list, although Majid Hosseini I think is a good choice in the list. But i trust that Queiroz knows what he's doing and I have 100% trust in him.

I'm very curious to see who he will cut from the list of 24 though!

He surely has valid reason after almost 7 years in Iran. I'm fully confident that he selects the most useful player to get the best results. In CQ we trust.

I respect CQ's decision as he has really been a legend for TM.

Still, there are always things I disagree with, and cutting Jalal is the biggest disagreement I ever had for him.

I always thought cutting Khalatbari and young Azmoun for 2014 was risky because both of them were X-factor players who could make the difference, but Jalal is the absolute rock, even in his mid-30s and with less pace than before (mind you, he never had much pace to begin with). He commands and reads the game.

This is a big gamble and let's hope it pays off. I am nervous though...

I remember 4 years ago when Khalatbari was dropped from squad —> same thing here!
CQ knows what he is doing after 8 years in Eye-Ran. He knows the team AND the opponents better than all of us combined!

please stop rumors specially in times when full support for TM is required. It serves no purpose.

Besides, a couch has the authority to make his own decisions for player selection and CQ's decision would need to be respected.

CQ has also dropped other players in the past where people raised questions, but he proved he knows what he is doing.

We need to trust that CQ would not do anything to harm TM.

But then again I am what they call Queiroshy!

To be fair: i always had doubts, if JH is fast enough against the quick play of Spain and Portugal.
I am absolutely sure that this is the reason behind the decision .

The man is 37, I don't think one needed much fantasy to understand there always were question marks about his presence at world cup.

And stop the Khanzadeh argument, quite obviously Khanzadeh is there as right-back option which can also be used as center-back. Similar to Cheshmi, who can be used as DM and CB. Hosseini only can be used as center-back, so it's Majid Hosseini who took his spot.

For lack of a better word: that's a BS, immature and unprofessional reasoning. And I know that the CQ lovers will come up with any and all irrational hypocrite reasoning to justify any BS CQ says and does but the rest of the people are not as stupid as you wished..
How much of a double standard before you guys feel ashamed yourself. All the justifying of why Gucci, who had a shitty season and hasn't had impact on any TM games in a while, being included. Him being level headed, having experience, needing less chances, etc.
    And Hosseini doesn't?????
Hosseini is one of the best defenders we have had for a long time. He is rock in our defence line, provides stability and calmness, and he actually scores once in while too.
So seriously, stop justifying it with your BS arguments. Just say CW is the coach, he gets to choose and that's it.
I know your text was not directed to me but I just need to let you know, what I said was not a justification and I'm as shocked, sad and angry as you are about all this. I'm just trying to be level headed and find a logical explanation for all this.

Tehranto our mister revolutionary starts this thread based on a rumor (rumor has it), ridicolous! No Jalal Hosseini was not dropped due to Quieroz's beef with Branko or Hosseini or his aunt, he was excluded because he's old and slow (get's tired faster) and thus would not physically be able to keep up during the intense world cup, playing three exhausting games in a short period, plain and simple.

It's not as if Quieroz does not train with his players and knows nothing of their fitness level

Exactly, Hosseini was gradually being phased out. So this is not something that comes out of the blue. Khanzadeh is our fifth option as central defender: after Pouraliganji, Montazeri, Majid Hosseini and Cheshmi, and our third choice for right back after Rezaeian and Montazeri, so his inclusion serves as last option due to lack of quality defenders in Iran and Khanzadeh being a physically strong and fit guy. Who here would have accepted Jalal Hosseini being fifth option as central defender? As some here rightly noted, Quieroz likes players who are versatile and physically fit (run alot), that's his playing style and his right as a coach! And by now we know that if someone knows about defending it's Quieroz!! Iranians have to be the most annoying and whining supporters on the planet (who know everything), let the man do his job and support your country for crying out loud!

It will be interesting if someone did an analysis of how Jalal has been used in the last 5 or so games. If memory serves me right he was transitioning him out. So it was on the cards and not out of the blue.

Exactly. World cup is the last place you start your regeneration. Lame excuse.
