No he hasn’t. Where did you get that from? He wasn’t in the 2014 squad, he was one of the alternates.Originally posted by naderb94 View PostLet this sink again.. (Having said that, I still want to know what he said when he spoke to Azmoun in 2014...)
I remember an interview with Azmoun where he said CQ told him that "he is not ready for this WC".

He was crossed off in the very last moment. Was the 24th player last time...Originally posted by naderb94 View PostLet this sink again.. Khanzadeh has been to more World Cups than players like Ali Karimi, Seyed Jalal, Karim Bagheri, and many others.. still can’t believe he has now made 2 World Cups

which was really BS ...!!Originally posted by Damavand View PostI remember an interview with Azmoun where he said CQ told him that "he is not ready for this WC".
the kid could flat out play at highest of all levels of football..!! even back then...!!
that was a dumb move by cq, especially when you put it in perspective of almost a handful of other Kiri Undeserving players that got on the list..!

Its also important to note, its not like the players we left out are at a level where it can be said definitely that they would make a difference on the world stage. Its not like leaving out nainngolan or something. We left out an aging CB, who can definitely be described as a good defender and leader but by no means world class, quick, or good on the ball, and a right back who has been in great form. both play in domestic league as well. Having said that, I think both should be in the squad, as should Kaveh. But after having reflected on the situation its not that incredulous or of huge magnitude.
TM plays first and foremost as a team, individuals rarely stand out. So its about finding the best balance for the team. The only individuals who have the potential to stand out on this team, and really make a game changing difference ALONE, are the front 4 of Azmoun, ARJ, Ghoddos (maybe, depends on how much chemistry he now has with squad), dejagah (if fit), Taremi (On his day)

he sure looked like phenomenal young talent in Uzb game, but he didnt look all that and a bag of chips in the prior friendly vs the more veteran African squds..!Originally posted by KeonKish View PostGholizadeh seems to have great speed technique and vision to find passes
It’s always nice to see a player that’s so confident with the ball
Compare his runs with amiri[emoji24][emoji24]

i like to see him tried out vs Turkey, see if he can show up vs a quality opponent before trusting to give the kid any game time at WC...!

^90 needs to cut down to45-60 and this is the sorta stuff they need to focus their programing on..!!
no wonder, we got so many chiefs but no indians amongst us iranians football personalities ...!!
the freaking most popular football show spends 70min of its 90 on hashieh and bs side show shenanigans instead of more mature and tactical football enlightening segments as such ..!!

Its about time that TM finds a new leader. These players have been on this team for years now. Azmoun looks like a good candidate. So does Haj Safi.Originally posted by naderb94 View Postgood video but that doesn't explain the lack of leadership that will be sorely missed by Seyed Jalal"Formerly known as AliDaeiClone"

Bachelot, you make some reasonable points, but can we all just conclude that Jalal Hosseini is out for now? He may come back in due to injury, but CQ believes this is our best team he has chosen. I would hate to put a monkey-wrench into whatever he has planned. We are around 3 weeks away, and we shouldn't be focusing on negativity around the call-ups. We should be focusing on seeing the positives in the opportunity to display our progress since 2014.Originally posted by BacheLot View Posteven PAG is a very volatile, risky Make-shift CB, and highly likely to give up PKs or getting sent-off at wc .!!
god forbid CQ lining him up next to an internationally, amateur young Hossaini at WC vs Spain ..!!
that my FERENDS sounds like a RECIPE FOR Total DISASTER..!
Even if we lose all 3 games, Iran and Iranian players' profile has increased dramatically in the last couple of years. EA Sports who perpetually ignored Iran was forced to acknowledge a guy like Jahanbakhsh for his amazing season, and even scanned the faces of 3 of our players for this edition of their world cup game.
Our future is very bright, and looking to short-term success over building potential future star-names like M. Hosseini is unnecessary. Seyed Jalal wouldn't have much more legs past June, and we cannot rely on him forever. We are planning to take back the Asian crown, and we need our young players experienced. Expectations for us are quite low, so CQ will look to the future, while trying his best to have success in this group of death.
If Iran were drawn with Panama, Peru, and Poland, you can bet your bippy that CQ would have fielded Jalal Hosseini and gone for the Round of 16 heavily. Instead, he has opted to push for the future. A guy like M. Hosseini will benefit a lot from the WC experience against Spain, Portugal and Morocco. Putting Jalal Hosseini in and losing to Spain or Portugal won't help us much down the line. M. Hosseini will need to rise to the challenge as Jalal Hosseini would have. CQ believes in the youngsters, and so should we. Why can't M. Hosseini be our superstar of the tournament? We really need to put him in there to find out.
