Yes - just flip Saudi Arabia and Australia. Australia will do a much better job than the Saudis against big teams - and all teams in World Cup are big teams. Saudi just does well in Asia.

Koreans were very unlucky to have a shit coach.

They are a quality team as is Japan, but Japan has definitely regressed compared to years ago.

Australia is a wild card as far as asian teams go, they can be very good and they can also be poor, depends on the game.

Korea sucks these days they are no more than a shadow of what they once were. Most who rate Saudi Arabia last are doing so out of pure bias they clearly had a much better WCQ campaign than SK who often struggled in an easy group.

(I'd say it is a close call for third between Saudi and Australia they are pretty interchangeable for third)

Honestly what has Ashkan got to lose by doing that?

He probably won’t make the WC squad anyway because if his injury, he would probably retire from TM after this WC, and his whole life is in Germany anyway.

What is IR gonna do about it? Ban him? Go ahead, it won’t bother him one bit.
