The Al Gharafa keeper had some nice reactions but to be honest those final touches by Teraktor players were going to be saved by any decent keeper. They just lacked the finishing touch and did not finish well. That said I do not think Al Gharafa will go far in the tournament.

Jeez we have so many quality forwards this is incredible. I think the Al gharafa move will be okay for mehdi, not as good as going to europe, but better than staying in Iran. He got himself and PP some decent money. More importantly, he is in calm environment and out of the hashieh of iran. Taremi, Sneijder, Weiss ( Starter for Slovakia, currently almost back from injury), will be a really strong front line and should prove hard to handle for most asian defenses. Although their own midfield and defense besides 2 foreign players seems pretty weak.

Let's not politicize it. There is no Iranian team that is not influenced by the state. Tehran Clubs are owned by the government!

As for fans, unfortunately some/a fraction have a completely different agenda than football, but I wouldn't go as far as alienating them. We are all Iranians.

I did not say Tractor fans are innocent [Khalijej Hamishe Fars ], I just criticized PersianLegion one-sided comments. In addition, calling Azeri Turks donkeys has some connection with political history.
