We can't risk a limited WC spot on an out of shape injury-prone player. Might as well just take 22 players to Russia at that point.

His experience, leadership, and talent is irreplaceable. I would be totally happy with him coming off the bench or playing 60 minutes.
Since TM overall is young, we need experience to make everything gel together. Shojaei will def need to be called up soon

he going to a club is a good move, getting injured is a different story. i dont think it will be his last world cup, he can be in 2019, and if he is still fit,he can be in 2022.

No it isn't. Ando and Masoud both have experience and talent. If we're looking for a mentor, we might as well take someone who has actually played full game of football in 2+ years and won't have to be carted off the field the moment someone looks at his general direction. Heck if we're looking for a mentor lets bring Javad Nekounam back, at least we know his knee won't shatter within 5 minutes of stepping onto the field.

Current Ashkan an overrated player who had some decent seasons, and hasn't achieved anything significant in years. The guy is done. It's over, get it over it. He aint Ronaldo.
