Who is the heart of your team? The one who always performs well, is tactically the smartest and puts their body on the line for the team?
I find its those players who matter the most in these tournaments, not the "flashy" ones.

Is anyone else getting annoyed by how much the media is hyping Morocco? I am all for being the underdog, but they make it seem like Morocco is going to walk all over us.

It’s amazing that there is so much hype for a team that had their most recent WC appearance in 1998.

Every and all major soccer magazines and publications have picked Iran to finish last in the group

So you all tell me ,why are they all against us ? or at the very least not giving us any chance of

Making it out of the group for what reason ?

There is a coordinated effort to weaken the TM’s moral but CQ is the right man to address this and inform all of them

Not to fall for the deliberate acts by the Saudi/Israeli agents and media world wide.

Unfortunately a lot of experts/fans tend to judge teams based on quality and quantity of players in the top European leagues.

Yeah. Based on the number of legionnaires, Korea would be better than Iran. On the pitch, Iran consistently beats Korea.
Right, as the world goes, is only in question between equals in power, while the strong do what they can and the weak suffer what they must.

This is the reality. We get disrespected every single WC and get picked to finish last. But look at it from a khareji person's perspective. They look at our pedigree at the WC and see that we have a grand total of one win at the WC in our history. We also play in Asia, arguably the weakest continent and despite this, we do not make the WC regularly. This is our first ever back to back WCs. We also have no players on "big name" teams or leagues. These facts lead to non-Iranian media to count us out.

The only way we can change this perception is to make a knockout stage and to regularly qualify for the WC. What better way to grab the world's attention than to make the knockout stage out of this behemoth of a group we find ourselves in?

it would have to be Benatia....most experienced and played for the more prestigious teams (Roma, Bayern, Juve) but he's on defense....not sure if you meant for a midfielder or attacker

ya honestly Nigeria and Bosnia games were HORRENDOUS! Especially the Bosnia game. We looked like Singapore playing Spain or something. Very disappointing.

Even the Argentina game, it wasn't exactly an Amazing game...we created some half chances and defended well. But they also missed a lot of their opportunities too. So a bit of luck played on our side as well til that goal happened. We did get robbed on few occasions but that was pretty much Argentina's worst game that tournament. Its not like they played amazing and we kept them 0-0

Iran got bad rap from the Nigeria game since it ended up being the first 0-0 game of World Cup 2014. None of the previous games ended in a tie, without a score.

The game against Argentina, Iran got some redemption since they did counter attack in the second half and made some chances, but in the end it was for naught.

I was personally banking on our team to make some stand against Bosnia and show some vigor, but sadly, being it mental and physical, they couldn't make it happen and we lost badly.

To be honest, I'm glad Iran is being underestimated. It will make for a bigger story if we're able to pull off a surprise, and it will mean that our opponents are more likely to underestimate us.
