Libya I agree is pathetic excuse for a friendly. I was just noting that the Togo friendly, especially as a first friendly that was followed by russia, was acceptable. As were the panama and venezuela friendlies. But the names being mentioned now, hungary and libya arent going to prepare us for shit. If algeria is true, then that is great, so is turkey. But that still means we need 1-2 games with teams the level of Belgium, Poland, Uruguay. Then the one additional non fifa day friendly vs Uzbekistan is good for the domestic players, plus a friendly in the camp to get confidence up before we start ( Vs Jamaica, Trinidad, whatever). That would be a good preparation. What is key is getting those friendlies vs big teams.

Lybia is decent team better than Togo and not that weak as you can think, they are hard to play and fight till the end, have 2/3 intresting technical players ,but their style is not so similar to Morocco, it's amazing how now Lybia don't have "peace" and their teams strugge to do some training ,don't have regular championship .... but once they face foreign teams, either for national teams or clubs in african cups, they do great and surprise always!

The way they explain it in the video it seems very logical and it also seems like it's what CQ wants. But unfortunately I think you're right. Looking at our friendlies in the past it's never really been the reality!

yeah they want a lot, same like us fans, we want it too, but the video is not even up to date anymore, as they now want to play Algeria in march, and I think the story behind this is, that they do not find teams for march, and now they told Algeria, toro khodam come let us play earlier...they just want to win time, and the problem is pushed to may and June....

algeria will be our top friendly in march, and another poor friendly will be played. finish.

Not the ideal opponent but given the circumstances, not a bad one! at least they are in WC and will take it seriously and would def be a step up to Venezuela and Panama. But not sure how it will prepare us for Spain/Portugal games. We desperately need to set up friendlies with teams of higher caliber who have star players as well. TM should get accustomed to playing vs big names/stars .Not necessarily tier 1 teams cuz IFF is not competent enough to get them but Poland (Lewandowsky), Croatia (likes of Modric, Mandzucic, rakitic, etc) or Uruguay (Suarez and Cavani) would def serve us better. Italy and Belgium would be ideal. Let's dream on...

Edwin Oviedo, presidente de la Federación Peruana de Fútbol, confirmó al término de la ceremonia de presentación de la nueva camiseta de la selección nacional que Croacia e Islandia son los rivales previo al debut en Rusia 2018.


Los compromisos amistosos se jugarán en marzo del próximo año en Estados Unidos. De acuerdo con el títular de la FPF, Croacia será el primer oponente. Dicho cotejo se realizará en la ciudad de Miami el 23 del mencionado mes.


Luego el 27 la selección peruana enfrentará a Islandia en Nueva York. Será la primera vez que ambos equipos chocarán contra la escuadra incaica. No existe ningún registro previo ni en categoría de menores.


Por otro lado, se tiene previsto que la selección peruana sostenga otros dos juegos amistosos más antes del inicio de Rusia 2018. Uno será en Lima con un rival europeo y el otro en el 'Viejo Continente'.


Cabe precisar que la selección peruana integra el Grupo C de Rusia 2018 junto a Francia, Dinamarca y Australia. El primero ya programó cinco amistosos ante Estados Unidos, Italia, Irlanda, Rusia y Colombia.

That's because no one has said anything. This thread is a wish list of what certain members want that turn into rumors. We talk about Iranian press, but some members here are worse.
