Fifa ranking doesnt mean you are good or bad. We qualified to World Cup, we have to preform there!

Its simple. Friendlies mean nothing compared to World Cup Qualification matches. Doesn't mean much more than that.

I really never understand these FIFA rankings. USA completely shit the bed and lost to Panama, failed to qualify to the World Cup and still goes up a spot in ranking. Makes no sense...Comment

PEOPLE still do not understand the ranking system.
If you play a WCQ match it is much much more worth compared to an friendly match.
For example Australia with two draws could over jump Korea and Japan, and nearly have our points.
If we would qualify for the World Cup via playoff, beating Australia for example, we would get much much more points as we have now.

I thought our prediction of pot 3 was based on being ranked about 34 (i.e. this drop in rankings was anticipated based on the potential points we could get compared to other teams).
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think anything has changed? Were people expecting our fifa ranking to be the same?Comment
