Friendly: Russia - Iran (10. October; somebody ready to go there?)

Iran Friendly vs. Russia, on 10. October, i herald here that it will be in St. Petersburg. Can somebody confirm this?

If it is in St. Petersburg, it is a journey worth. Is somebody ready to go there, some days in Hostel and backpacker and going for the match.

I checked the calendar. We can fly on 6. or 7. October to St. Petersburg and fly back after the match in the night, or on the next day. (11. October).

If there are some fans ready to fly from Cologne or Dusseldorf or this area, or ready to meet there in St. Petersburg, would be nice.

Saeed good idea but this makes only sense once location and tickets are confirmed. Plus I think even with EU passports Russia requires visa which add some effort.

The Russian national team will stage a training camp in Novogorsk on 28 August–3 September. There are no international friendly matches scheduled as most national teams play their 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifying matches at these dates. And Russia won’t plan playing versus national teams with low FIFA ranking. Nevertheless Stanislav Cherchesov’s charges will still have a friendly match during the training camp. On Sunday, 3 September the Russian national team will play against FC Dinamo Moscow. This game will take place at the Arena Khimki stadium; the kick-off time will be duly communicated later.

- Late August – early September we will have a training camp at the dates defined by the FIFA international calendar. We are planning to call the players who have never been capped before or those who haven’t been called regularly. We will get acquainted with them and they will learn our requirements. At the moment this format is very important and useful as we must have clear understanding of the Russia A-team first reserve. As a year ago after the UEFA EURO in France most players of the team main line-up will not be called to the training camp in September. Thus, the players who participated in the FIFA Confederations Cup and who are playing now in UEFA competitions will have an opportunity to work in their clubs which currently corresponds to the Russia A-team interests at some degree too. We won’t have international friendlies at these dates but on 3 September we will play a match versus FC Dinamo Moscow. We would like to express our gratitude to the club’s management and coaching staff for the consent to stage the game. As for friendly matches in October and November the agreement with relevant national teams has been reached and after all formalities have been completed FUR will inform the supporters on the venue and kick-off time of these matches.

If you have an Iranian passport then tourist visa is not required.
