Iran might be banned from the World Cup with Italy taking their spot:
The Iranian football federation fear they could be banned from the World Cup in Qatar later this year...
Video footage shared online shows women and girls choking and crying with their eyes streaming following the incident outside the Imam Reza stadium in Mashhad on Tuesday.
Once again there appears to be no accountability after women were violently forced to stay out of a football stadium.
There is an extremely remote possibility Italy could be promoted to the 2022 World Cup if Iran are excluded for banning women from the stadium.
IR bit off more than they can chew

Video footage shared online shows women and girls choking and crying with their eyes streaming following the incident outside the Imam Reza stadium in Mashhad on Tuesday.
She told Sportsmail: 'As an Iranian woman, I call on FIFA to ban the Islamic Republic because we, the women of Iran, are banned from entering stadium for 42 years.Masih Alinejad, an Iranian activist and campaigner who was sent videos from the stadium, wants FIFA to ban Iran from competing in the World Cup later this year.
'If some Western countries banned women from entering stadiums, what would you do? Then what is different between us and Western women? This is hypocritical that FIFA ignore us.
'This is a total betrayal that FIFA do not take a strong action against a gender apartheid regime!'

The farther away etelaati Alinejad stays away from anything to do with Iranian sports, the better.
She was crying when Iran qualified to the World Cup. She is a distraction and a diversion and looking for her next cheque. She does not want to help.
Instead, we have actual people trying to fix this situation like Masoud Shojaei's sister.

For what it's worth, the only one that says anything about Italy is the football-italia link, which is just a fan run page. It's not real news.Originally posted by Team Melli Fan View PostIran might be banned from the World Cup with Italy taking their spot:

Look, outside a few here - we all hate IR. But you know you are going to make a lot of Mullahs happy with this statement?Originally posted by Benjaminnn View PostIranian football should be banned from any international competition until this problem is solved. A fine should be considered for each month IFF doesn't allow Iranian women in stadiums. Enough is enough.
This only hurts Iran and Iranians. Not the Mullahs. The sanctions didn't do anything either, it only strengthened their ruthlessness."This is a totalitarian system whose presence people feel in their blood and in their flesh on a daily basis. And it’s one that does not grant freedoms of any kind, or accommodate people’s demands in any way. What is increasingly clear is that there is clear demand for change in the regime. What the people want is regime change, and no return to the past. There is a very real possibility of regime change." - Nasrin Sotoudeh
