well Sardar was a star in Champions League last season, lets not forget that. A higher level than any of our players, including kaveh, have not only succeeded, but actually been a star in.Originally posted by Kiarash View PostJust let it sink in that Rezaei is making more noise with all his goals and assists at his only 1st season in Europe while Sardar has been in Russia for years and can’t score a single goal this season when his life depends on it..

"Mazzu, Martos, Bayat, the fans, ... They are all fans of Rezaei
Five months after arriving in Charleroi in the most complete anonymity, Kaveh Rezaei is today the flagship striker of Sporting. Author of six goals and three assists in half a season, the Iranian is unanimous around him. Philippe Simonin: "He presses like a hyena"
Between Philippe Simonin, the carolo physical trainer , and Kaveh Rezaei, a strong bond was quickly created. "I translate all the talks of Felice in English by staying next to him so necessarily, we communicate a lot," says Corsica."

What I am about to say is a general statement - of course each individual team in PGL has different weaknesses, but I think the overall weak point of our league (putting aside all the bullshit outside of the pitch, which is a whole different ball game) is our midfield.Originally posted by irani8perspolis View PostKaveh has as many goals with Charleroi as he did with Esteghlal last year, and he has played half the amount of games.
Using the logic of some PGPL bashers here that means PGPL>Belgian League
Unfortunately, this weak point brings the level of the league down drastically, because the modern game is orchestrated through the midfield. Our strikers are above average, our defenders are individually strong, but the midfield is where things fall apart. Most of the PGL midfield don't have the IQ to run the game efficiently, and this slows our games down and makes them boring the majority of the time.
If we can strengthen our midfield, the level of our league would improve immensely (its a shame that everything outside the pitch would still keep our league in the abyss, even if we made this improvement).

You are exactly right, but I think it’s a problem only in this generation of Iranian players.Originally posted by Ando Teymourian View PostWhat I am about to say is a general statement - of course each individual team in PGL has different weaknesses, but I think the overall weak point of our league (putting aside all the bullshit outside of the pitch, which is a whole different ball game) is our midfield.

There was a time where Nekounam, Ando, Karimi etc. where top midfielders who could be the engine of their teams. These players has great passing abilities, and can open up gaps with creative passes.
Currently look at TM and IPL in general, who can we confidently say is a great passer of the ball?
Last derby I watched was just players feeling inclined to take long shots once they passed the halfway line. And TM midfielders can’t put together 2 forward passes without “bezan ziresh and hope Sardar gets a head on it” tactics.
We’re in a dry patch right now, when it comes to producing capable midfielders.

Yes I agree with you 100% on this. This is the by-product of Iranian players having very low football IQ (due to incompetent coaches), if we want to have good midfielders we need proper coaches who teach players how to be intelligent on the field.Originally posted by Ando Teymourian View PostWhat I am about to say is a general statement - of course each individual team in PGL has different weaknesses, but I think the overall weak point of our league (putting aside all the bullshit outside of the pitch, which is a whole different ball game) is our midfield.

I also think this is largely due to our league's mentality, for as long as I can remember, prioritizing individuality over team play, so that surely contributes to this issue as well.Ma Bishomarim

The lack of training facilities is what accounts to this. Midfielders need the proper training grounds to help spread the ball and make smart decision making with the ball however the lack of proper training ground is forced our game to mostly go from the back straight to the front and force most our midfielders to play in a more either defensive role where they stay back and help the D-line or Offensive role where the attack and add numbers upfront. True Centre midfielders (Andre Pirlo Style) is none existence while our Arab neighbours have shined in that department thanks to their proper training fields."History is a set of lies that people have agreed upon,"
