So we went from a world-class sportsbrand to a unknown brand? That is straight up IFF for you guys.

            Have you followed this thread?
Adidas hasn't done shit for TM...
After World Cup we will have an actual sponsor.

              To clear up the confusion:

Hakoupian is making the formal attire for Iranian Melli players for World Cup. (Meaning Kot va shalvar)

Iran is not being sponsored by Adidas. That is because of stupid laws in the country forbidding this to happen.

Iran is paying Adidas to buy kits for the world cup. They are paying 30% of the actual price to buy their kits. In return 10% of sales from Iranian Kits outside Iran will go to IFF.

This has nothing to do with Adidas. Taj said it himself today that because of laws existing in Iran that companies like Adidas can not sell their jerseys in Iran unless they were produced in the country we had to cancel the sponsorship and buy our jerseys from them instead.

^ it is not because of the laws, but because of lack of laws in Iran for copyright protection of their brands. If they can't sell their products, why even bother?

Taj did not even bring up the Copyright issue. Apparently the new laws restrict foreign clothing companies from selling their stuff in Iran unless the product was made in Iran. I find this very hard to believe, but that is what he said. Maybe he meant to say from an official government standpoint they can not be sponsored by companies that do not produce their clothing in Iran. Even that seems stupid because we are still paying Adidas to produce our kits.

He is saying this is because of "Eghtesade Moghavemati". So instead of getting our kits for free and being sponsored by Adidas we have to pay them to make our kits.

Hakoupian signed until 2020 to cover all team melli's at all levels, including Beach Soccer wearings.

Agree that it doesn't make sense...as every single product Iranians want to buy can not be made in Iran (think Samsung phones, European airplanes/cars, etc). It's a silly nationalist law to try and protect Iranian workers by providing them jobs, but no international company will every take that challenge on. Thus, we're stuck paying for a jersey we could have gotten for free!
