Dejagah wasn't even on the bench today, still injured.

Cashkan can finally be called Ashkan got the moves like Dejagah, again!

lol I quickly went through some posts. Don’t know who said what, but some of you really need to check the definition of a "hater". You are a hater if you constantly question a player's talent and potential and believe he will never make it. However many of us criticized Dejagah because of the opposite fact - we were so disappointed and angry because we actually believed he is one of hell of a player & wasting valuable time in some al tokhmi league + some of his interview were sad as well trying to make it look like the transfer had no effect on his quality and he is not playing for money...It's not like Dejagah is the first one, almost every Iranian player that joins al tokhmi deserves to get criticized.

Anyway, hopefully he can overshadow this big stain on his career and kill it like Gucci did as soon as he returned to Europe. Dejagah needs plenty of time to get back in shape and I guess his sudden injury can be blamed because of that. However let’s not forget that even at his prime he was injury prone and lacked stamina - he needs to work extra hard to rock the Bundesliga once again. TM looks tight, all our players are pushing themselves for the WC!

Ashkan attended an exhibition with VFL Wolfsburg CEO, and ex-players to mark 20 years in the Bundesliga:

"Talk with Martin Petrov and Co.
WOLFSBURG In the VfL football world, current and former green-whites recall the "20-year Bundesliga".
        By Bettina Jaeschke
        17.03.2017 - 21:39

VfL CEO Wolfgang Hotze, Peter Pander, Holger Ballwanz, Ashkan Dejagah, Martin Petrov and presenter Sven Froberg.
For Martin Petrov (right), VfL's managing director Wolfgang Hotze had a pair of gloves. Ashkan Dejagah (left) can hardly believe it.
The exhibition "20 years of the Bundesliga" was opened yesterday in the VfL football world. On this occasion, a talk-talk took place with current and former protagonists of the Green-Whites.

Managing Director Wolfgang Hotze, ex-manager Peter Pander, advancement hero and supporter Holger Ballwanz, champion player and returner Ashkan Dejagah as well as ex-professional Martin Petrov were presenter Sven Froberg. The Wolfsburg journalist had at that time accompanied the Bundesliga promotion game against Mainz as a reporter for Sat 1. He visited the football world yesterday for the first time. "I'm excited. It is impressive what was created here, "he said.

"We are proud to play in the Bundesliga after 20 years," said Hotze. This year, the main goal is to avoid the decline. "This will be difficult enough." However, the association is set up in such a way that the long-term goal must be to achieve international competition on a regular basis. "This year is not an issue."...
At a great time at VfL, Dejagah recalls, who is delighted to be back again. "I was very well received by the fans and the team-mates," he said. "I'm going to burn up here.""

        "Completed running training

Ashkan Dejagah has already seen the first change of coach at the VfL Wolfsburg, but his winter assignment is still waiting for his first assignment after returning to the wolves. The 30-year-old coach Valerien Ismael was able to show himself at least in the training sessions, even though he was not allowed to play because of a missing - but now available - game license.

According to the current exercise manager, Andries Jonker, he did not present himself in the team training to prevent injury. A muscle fiber tear in the calf, which lasted about three and a half weeks ago, still stops Dejagah. After all, he has already started running again on the pitch. With the Lower Saxony, it is hoped that the midfielder after the national pause,"

        "Dejagah's race with time

It was the surprise transfer of the last changeover period: Ashkan Dejagah, 2009 champion, returned to VfL Wolfsburg. The catch: To this day, the 30-year-old did not stand a minute for the VfL on the lawn. And in the summer his contract is already running out again.

He's running again, after all. On Wednesday, Ashkan Dejagah teamed up with VfL-Fitnesstrainer Oliver Mutschler on the training ground of VfL Wolfsburg. The hope is that the wing player will be available again after the national league. It's like bewitched for the winter new arrival. At first, after his change from Qatar to the VfL, he was missing the game license, which after a long round was finally available, he pulled himself a muscle fiber in the calf. "This was a big setback for Ashkan and for us," says VfL sports director Olaf Rebbe.

Especially bitter for both sides: Dejagah only has a contract until the summer and wanted to use the half-year to recommend for a long-term employment with the Lower Saxony. So far, however, the people in charge have not really been able to get a picture of the master. "I hope we see Ashkan soon in the VfL jersey," Rebbe says. However, the German-Iranian, who was last used in his ex-club Al-Arabi Doha in February 2016 and then only played for the Iranian national team, lacks any match practice. In the face of the VfL midfield - trainer Andries Jonker builds on Yunus Malli, Maximilian Arnold and Daniel Didavi - it is difficult to assume that Dejagah will soon play an important role. Perspectively a problem for Dejagah. Because: "The new coach must also take a picture of him," says Rebbe.

It is a race with Dejagah ten days before the season. But who knows, perhaps the veteran can still be a decisive factor in the relegation battle. 2011 has already succeeded him. When Wolfsburg were already one leg in the second league at TSG Hoffenheim (3-1), the offensive player prepared the redemptive 2: 1 for the VfL by Mario Mandzukic.

Thanks for your explanations, but the bottom line is you kept calling him Cashkan for a long time. Hater or not, this is disrespectful. This fact remains.

Which he deserved at that time. He wore the TM's captain armband several times and I cannot respect a player that moves to some useless arab league at the peak of his career and lies to his fans saying it's not because of the money and he would be ready to play in Europe any time, while actually his performance was declining. At least be honest...and I also do not buy this "nooshe joonesh" arguments.

It's disrespectful to insult a player personally, calling him bad names or even attacking his family. But coming up with rather funny names like (C)Ashkan is part of football discussions and ok as long is doesn’t go further. I was still rooting for him when he was wearing the TM jersey and knew the day he returns to Europe I will fully be on his side again. You know what’s disrespectful – the way people treated a legend like Shojaei! But god forbid when you criticize Dejagah! Some of those who are calling us haters should really review how they actually treated other players...

Thanks again for your explanations. I have always been for spirited, but respectul discussions, even if disagreements exist. I totally agree with you that the way some people here on this board treated Shojaei, or Karim for that matter, when these players had an unlucky streak, was absolutely disgraceful. As far as I'm concerned, my objection to your calling Ashkan Cashkan is not about Ashkan, it's more generally about how we as fans deal with a player's decision that we don't approve of. Just like you, I hated the fact that after the WC14, two of our players, Ashkan and Gucci, went from Europe to Arab leagues, when all that we hoped for was players moving from that part of the world to Europe, not the other way around. Yet, I believe respect should not be conditional. Yes, we all hated that fact he moved there, but that shouldn't be enough for calling him names. Also, I don't see how he lied to his fans. In fact, he lived up to what he said by accepting Wolfsburg's offer and returning to Europe.

Mario Gomez scored a hatrick in 8 minutes to salvage a point for Wolfsburg in their last match.

Always thought he was a bit of an underrated / unheralded striker.

I was actually surprised that Bayern let him go for mandzukic, who wasn't nearly as good.

Gomez is a great striker and Wolfsburg are lucky to have acquired him.

Mandzukic is much more multifaceted in open play though, Gomez is a box specialist that scores goals but doesn't contribute to the play as Mandzukic does. Depends on what type of profile you want for your squad and tactic etc. Bayern already had creators and needed a go-to scorer, why he worked better there. Lewandowski is basically Gomez, but 2.0 with world class qualities all round. Both Marios are good players though.

I agree, mandzukic is known for his work rate and hard work. He is also a very good header and poacher.

I believe Wolfsburg have games until
Mid may so I hope ashkan gets some playing time before the season ends!!
