They do have several good refs, however compared to rest of the referees in Asia lately Faghani has been given the biggest stages to whistle. But that shall not undermine the merit of the Uzbek refs!

He's clearly mental, but we shouldn't make a big fuss, openly. It's the job of the incompetent Kafashian to use his "influence" at AFC to sort this out quietly.

Any over reaction will play against us, the same of what happened with Qatar with focusing too much on their international players, as if we were playing Argentina. We should play our own game, do not make any silly fouls/giving excuses to a stupid referee.

I have a feeling in this round of WCQ, we are our worst enemy, putting too much unnecessary pressure on our team with every single up and down. We have to accept that this will be a long bumpy road and we need to stick together and remain focused throughout.

Our next match will be key to this qualification campaign. I'm sure the boys will give their best as they did 4 years ago.

The best in Asia is Faghani...I will let you look up his CV...oh and he isn't Uzbekistani either Iramatov is a close second...at least on this forum...but as you know the squeeky wheel get's the grease and this is how they play bs Qatari funded mind games in AFC.

There has been no news of a possible comeback in Australian media (closer to Ben Williams than any Iranian media).

According to Aussie media he retired from club matches in July 2016 and will officiate international matches until the end of this year.
