Yesterday, SK coach Stielke said Iran beat us last time with only one goal from a set piece, the game was under our control, but this time is different.

Some one should remind him that they've lost quite a few times with single goal scored by Iran.

Iran has only played 496 games since its creation. While the likes of Sk have played 720 something and Japan 650 something. Why is the number of games play by TM so low? Also we will hit a 500 milestone with the Qatar game in second round of wcq )

one reason is during the 80s we didnt play alot of game,while also from the 200s till now we had hard times getting friendlies over aLL hence the number is low

Also has anyone noticed the new center of Iranian football is shomal (Caspian region).
We have Jalal Hosseini, Rezaeian, Pouraliganji, Ebrahimi, Ezatollahi, Jahanbakhsh, Azmoun who are often starters
Not to mention we have occassionally called up players such as Makani, Kanaani and Pourghaz.
Just an interesting note. In the 2000s we had lots of Khuzestani players, the 90s we had lots of Azarbaijani players and in the 80s many Isfahanis...

On a side note: The same Macedonia, we were unlucky to not beat with more than 3-1 away, played against Italy and were unlucky to lose 2-3 with the winner scored in minute 90+1.
