Damn it will be the first match against the Israelis, so he can't suspend himself for the match!
He needs to fake an injure (like a strained hamstring) for the first leg and he can get a suspension for the return leg.
It's not ideal, but he has to do it.

So what happens now? Refusing to participate could ruin his career. It sort of ruined dejaghas international reputation for a while. If I remember it correctly, he was kicked out of the German U21.
He'd need a green light from IR which I'm not sure they'll do because they're beyond childish when it comes to recognizing Israel.
