AZ Alkmaar is proud to have Jahanbakhsh on their team. He's been on the right track for both club & country.

I know the fans are frustrated with him because of his finishing, but they should cut him some slack. He's working hard and correct me if I'm wrong but isn't he one of the few players on the squad who plays consistently for both his club and national team. He has to fly back and forth from Holland to Iran. The AZ fans are passionate and I understand and respect that. But they should give Alireza a break.

AZ coach's comments before their match today:

"The team is, the results are good. The match against NEC was won and also in a convincing way. So I give the players confidence. I see no reason to change, '' said Van den Brom. Alireza Jahanbakhsh which only Friday joined back in the selection after his international commitments with Iran, just start at the base."

Expected Arrangement AZ: Rochet; Johansson, Vlaar, Van Eijden, Haps; Luck Assen, Van Overeem, Wuytens; Jahanbakhsh, Friday, Dos Santos.

"Why AZ Alkmaar are the Dutch team to watch in Europe this year?

On the other flank is Alireza Jahanbakhsh who was given a tour of the Brighton and Hove Albion training ground last season but chose to join AZ Alkmaar from NEC instead. He is becoming the muse for his young side, cutting in to chip in with goals while also maintaining an ability to hit the most well-measured crosses."

I log on fox sport.nl (to have access to the video) but you have to register again on Ziggo and pay (?) after to watch it. I didn't go that far.

What a fantastic cross by ARJ. Sitter saved at 6 yard box.

Jahanbakhsh should have had an assist, his team mate missed a sitter.

His assists were fine, it's that damn sitter he missed in the game vs. China that screwed us. What a brilliant pass by Masoud and ARJ skies it and tries to reach for the heavens.
