'Ghoochannejhad terug in de Eredivisie: woensdag keuring, meerjarig contract'

Reza Ghoochannejhad wordt op korte termijn door sc Heerenveen gepresenteerd als nieuwste aanwinst. De 28-jarige aanvaller komt transfervrij over van Charlton Athletic, weet De Telegraaf.
Ghoochannejhad ondergaat woensdag een medische keuring in Friesland. De international van Iran speelde jarenlang in de jeugdopleiding van Heerenveen. Zeven jaar geleden vertrok hij. Via onder meer Go Ahead Eagles, SC Cambuur, Sint-Truiden en Standard Luik belandde Ghoochannejhad in 2014 bij Charlton. De formatie uit Londen verhuurde hem twee keer. Vorig jaar speelde de aanvaller voor Al-Wakrah in Qatar.
Nu keert hij terug terug bij zijn oude club. Volgens De Telegraaf tekent de international een meerjarig contract in het Abe Lenstra Stadion. Bij Heerenveen gaat Ghoochannejhad de concurrentie aan met Henk Veerman en Mitchell te Vrede. Het aantrekken van een extra spits had voor de nieuwe trainer Jurgen Streppel topprioriteit.
