Who else is missing Team Melli in Euro 2016 ?

On all fairness, for years or perhaps decades we won't even qualify to the final round.

This means I for one for the rest of my life have to put up with so much media and fans rants and negativity as result of getting eliminated from the qualifier rounds of WC and Euro tourneys.

Please let us for the time being cope with our typical Asian tourneys exits without a single title in decades, while every other WCQ struggling to qualify to World Cup.

Once we easily win Asian Cups and make it to ACL finals, then we may consider such bold moves.

Iran would have a hard time winning a single game. Iran should focus on winning the Asian cup before we get to cocky about their ability

I feel like when there's less pressure on Iran, we usually perform well.

So if for whatever reason (hypothetically speaking) Iran or Japan were to be invited by UEFA to participate in the Euro one day, I believe Team Melli could get decent results.

And historically since the 1970's you saw this in which tournament Iran was involved in? I would put an * next to your comment, and also add that coupled with less pressure, the tournament has to be meaningless as well so like a WAFF championship or if we were ever to form a CAF championship

In a EURO tournament, we have as much chance to do well as Albania, Macedonia, and the teams we seem to manage. Just as a point of comparison, remember how we all felt about Bosnia given our history with them pre-WC and how they outclassed us during the WC. That was humbling to say the least.

Iran can't even win the Asian Cup let alone qualify for Euros. We got beat bad by Sweden and Bosnia, both who are average teams by European standards.

And furthermore, some of our members feel that Iran is on par with Turkey and that a match with them would be a close one. Well Turkey has been all but convincing this round of the tournament. I can't even remember the last time TM had a "successful" tournament anymore particularly since we dropped out of WAFF lol

To be fair Bosnia has very good players. Much better than many of the teams that qualified.

Watching all those teams, I feel like Team Melli would have a legit shot at making it to the 1/8 finals in this Euros.
Too bad we have to play the likes of Iraq, Saudi Arabia and Qatar every year, we would benefit so much in playing european teams.
They would never accept us in UEFA though, I feel like they're barely accepting the turks right now lol.

Regardless, I'm really missing TM in this cup, it would make it so much more exciting. Don't you agree?
