i'd imagine even a Popular American personalities or other well-known athletes be criticized for wearing in public apparel depicting genitals of a monkey or whatever..!!
the argument over here would be that these guys are role models to many impressionable young children due to their popular status, hence should adhere to a bigger sense of responsibilities on how they portray their image in public..!!

This is my take: Sosha Makani were involved in many fights when he was a goal keeper. This did not look good him or his club.

Sosha should be free to wear anything he wants. Team-e Melli also should be free to choose anybody based not only on talent, but also manners to represent Iran.
