Football League: Gayle double sinks Stoke, Jozefzoon hits Derby winner
Sheffield Wednesday deepen Reading misery as Ollie Watkins scores winner against Forest. Peterborough lose perfect record as leaders Lincoln cruise at Exeter
League One
Peterborough surrendered their 100% record, the last remaining in England’s top four divisions, after a stormy 1-1 draw with Doncaster. After Ryan Tafazolli’s header had cancelled out John Marquis’ opening goal for Doncaster, Posh could not find a winner, and manager Steve Evans and assistant Paul Raynor were both red-carded and sent to the stands, having previously been yellow-carded for offences on the touchline. We are currently witnessing a revolution in Iranian football. Team Melli has never been stronger than it is today, and we will only get better.

I know that I made a comment here a few weeks ago that he isn't TM material, but now Peterborough are 1st in the league in race for a promotion to the Championship and he's their vital player I'd say give him a call for the Asian Cup camps. He is nowhere near WC material, but at least good enough for Asian standards I think. His height and psychical ability will be useful for us. He can be a stand-in for the CB duo Pouraliganji and Hosseini.Originally posted by Iran_19 View PostYes i agree with this, if his club qualify to Championship, he at least deserves a call.

Peterborough United 1:2 Portsmouth FT
* Ryan started the match and played the full 90 mins.
* Peterborough drop to second place after their first loss this season, with Portsmouth claiming 1st.
Interview with Ryan about his teammates and new coach published yesterday:
"Peterborough defender Ryan Tafazolli: 'Steve Evans is unbelievable - this feels like a new club'
After three promotions in four seasons, Peterborough United fans were getting used to a party. But the days of open- top bus parades and town-hall speeches have become distant memories, the club predominately stuck in League One mediocrity for the past five seasons. That is, until this campaign.
Darren Ferguson, the manager who guided Peterborough out of League Two and twice into the Championship, in 2009 and 2011, is long gone. Instead it is another no-nonsense operator, Steve Evans, a man with six promotions on his CV and a love-him-or-hate-him reputation, who has optimism growing following the team’s best-ever start to a season.
“Steve is an unbelievable manager,” defender Ryan Tafazolli says. “His standards are very high. If you fall below the standards he requires of us, he won’t hesitate to dig anyone out.
“He’s got a recipe for success and he’s trying to implement that here and it’s working. If anyone was to slip, he’s created an environment where, even now, the players in the team will get on to people to keep up the standards.”
An unbeaten record in the opening seven games suggests the demanding approach is generating results. Peterborough are top of League One, ahead of promotion favourites Portsmouth, Barnsley and Sunderland. Portsmouth visit today for an enticing first-versus-second encounter.
“It felt like I was coming back to a new club after being here for two seasons, with so many new faces,” says Tafazolli. “We all knew we would have to fight hard to get into the team and that increased competition for places.
“We have been desperate now for a long time to get back to where this club belongs.""

I'm as big a perve as your next man but this is like the third separate occasion I'm seeing discussion completely irrelevant to football and instead surrounding where some Iranian brother is sticking his sausage. This isn't some women's gossip mag, let's try and at least crowbar some football discussion in somewhere.

Ryan drew 2-2 against Sunderland today, YES SUNDERLAND the Premier League club (well former) who is now in League 1
Does anyone know if CQ is going to call him up? It isn't fair to call up Ansari or Cheshmi, but not Ryan. Ryan could easily break into PP or SS starting XI but instead he is challenging for promotion in European club! Especially of how respectful he is of CQ, it's the least he could do for him.
