The way AFC schedule things too, it will probably be something insane like going all the way to east Asia and then flying back to west Asia to play a game 3 hrs later, while Saudi's games will all be perfectly scheduled.

To be honest i rather we group with Saudi and Iraq, in both cases home game will be away and that is huge advantage and coming to this stage if we want qualify it shouldn't really matter against which team we play, my only concern is too much travelling with east Asians and Aussies.

Syria and Iraq has no team, there country is almost destroyed by war. specially Syria, there is no any football. UAE over China, I think UAE will be more easy for us. but I think we would not have any problems of defeating China.

I only wish we play our neutral venue games against S. Arabia in Sydney (if it comes to that). I bet you 30-40K Iranians will show up to cheer the team. Just like it happened in every game during the Asia cup when Iran played. Every game felt like a home game :-)

These groups are tough but they're still not as hard as qualifying in every year before 2002.

As long as we avoid Saudi Arabia and get Iraq and Syria then we are good. We will qualify for the World Cup with this strong young side.

Iran and Japan will top the table for the 2 automatic berths. Saudi, China, Iraq and Thailand can fck each other as much as they want over the 3rd spot.

In the other group, I like;

QATAR

These teams would have to tear each other apart for the top two spots. And each have the potential to top the table.
But the real problem is Qatar. You can bet that they would do just about anything (burn $$) to go to Russia and ahead of their 2022 WC. It is so so critical for them to be there.
And do I look concerned who the fck is going to make it out of this group!! no !!!

Nor do I care who is going to battle it out before facing the 5th team of Conacaf??? Although I think Asia has a good chance for 5th entry to Russia.
