Qatar will be a nice toy for teams to work on their goal difference in the group stage.

They can definitely make it easier for themselves. They could realistically get a group like Qatar, Switzerland, USA, Algeria. Even then though, they are significantly outmatched physically and technically.

The reason Arab teams fail to impact on World football is their tactics of being shy. Any team in the World cup of its own merit is good enough to keep the ball against a team like Qatar and prevent Qatar time wasting and getting a result. If you take the Swiss/USA/Algeria group as an easiest group for Qatar, they would lose each game by 1 or 2 goals.
