If there is any overrated and overhyped Asian team at the moment, it's probably UAE. Their 3rd place at the Asian Cup 2015 was a fluke, they were lucky against underperforming Japan in penalties and faced a weak Iraq for the 3rd place match.Originally posted by Damavand View PostThis UAE team has been playing together for many years and are in fact their Golden Generation. I predict they will defeat KSA at home.

Then that means we will probably once again not play Australia? And 50% chance of getting Korea for the 3rd time in a row in our WCQ final group? Some things never change.. but maybe that's for the better.Originally posted by Farhad-7 View Postif Aus win against Jordan, they will be in pot 1 with Iran I think regardless of Japan's game against Syria. (according to the FIFA prognosis shit)

Japan in their current form are beatable, while the Saudi's will try to play their dirty games in order to psychically weaken us. Qatar will always be a pain in the ass, I don't worry about the inconsistent Uzbeks. Iraq is a secure 6 points.Originally posted by Bessos View PostThat's the best group.
The opposite would be this, god forbid:
1. Iran
2. Japan
3. Saudi Arabia
4. Qatar
5. Uzbekistan
6. Iraq

You should mostly focus/speculate on following pots:
(Worst Case) Scenario 1:- SaudiArabia win in Emirates
- Korea must win their Friendly in Thailand while Australia have to win at home vs. Jordan. If Korea not win->Japan with victory change position with Korea!
- China beating Qatar = China. China not wining means UAE instead in this Pot.
Pot 1:
Iran, Saudi Arabia
Pot 2:
Australia, Korea
Pot 3:
Japan, Uzbekistan
Pot 4:
China/UAE, Qatar
Pot 5:
Korea DPR, Iraq
Pot 6:
Syria, Thailand
Scenario 2: SaudiArabia not wining their match, Aussies beating Jordan- Japan and Korea - Both must! win their matches! Saudi with draw and Korea with draw means split draw between Korea and Saudi for Pot 2 (equal 559 points! Special Scenario. If Japan draw also against Syria, Japan go down into Pot 3 with Uzbekistan, Saudi and Korea Pot 2.
Pot 1:
Iran, Australia
Pot 2:
Japan, Korea
Pot 3:
SaudiArabia, Uzbekistan
Pot 4:
UAE, Qatar
Pot 5:
DPR Korea, Iraq
Pot 6:
Thailand, Syria
Notice again:
In Fact, everything can happen up and down in the pots. even UAE can jump into Pot 2 with a victory and it is enough japan or korea or australia let points in their matches, for example UAE victory (571) means Japan and Korea must win their matches, which are difficult enough vs. syria and away in thailand, and also australia has a big match vs. jordan.
I only know, that all powerhouses should win (Korea, Japan, Australia) and Saudi Arabia not win their away match. If Saudi win away, they will be in our pot, and we will avoid them, but there is a chance of getting two or even all 3 teams (Korea, Japan, Australia).
Best scenario means also good luck in drawing and a group like Iran, Saudi Arabia, Uzbekistan, means everything must run perfect that Australia win their match, korea from pot 2 goes into group australia, and japan also in group australia
but the chance of all this luck is very low.
My view on this is, that Australia, Japan, Korea should organize a friendly before 15 April (next fifa ranking) against lower teams, so that they collect some more points and step higher in the ranking, but same is possible for Saudi Arabia.
UAE was clever, they collect some points vs. bangladesh, 80 points ham 80 points hast..World Cup 2006, Frankfurt, Iran vs. Portugal, Iranian Frontpage of GOAL Sportspaper

And on the 8.Day God created Ali Karimi, and he saw he was good!
