Glad he's playing for my hometown team! I wish him great success and expect to see more assists from him now that he's playing alongside Michael Bradley, Jozy Altidore, and best of all Giovinco
Vouria Ghafouri and Ramin Rezaeian are both great players. Ramin is obviously a more of an attacking player than Vouria, and Vouria is more of a defensive minded, physical player. They are both talented and rightfully deserve their spots in the national team.
However, to say that the reason why Beitashour isn't invited is because other players are just better than him is just rubbish in my opinion. Just because he wasn't given the opportunity to show his skills against a tougher opposition doesn't make him any weaker or stronger than any of our players.
Let's be honest here. MLS is a professional league. Mehrdad is playing in a professional league with and against some talented players. He's starting and is tested every week against some of the best. The guy is still young and still capable of playing for Team Melli.
I think it's a bunch of bull crap to say he doesn't deserve to play for us. He deserves it just as anybody else who had been invited deserves it. If he wasn't good, he wouldn't have been invited to our team in the past. Obviously Carlos saw something in him to have called him up.
Now that that's out of the way, let's go over why he hasn't been invited in the past year and a half. Here are my 2 guesses.
1) Because he has to travel half way across the World to play for Team Melli. This will cause fatigue and it could be bad for him physically and mentally. It could cause injuries. But at the same time, he was invited before so this might be less of a reason he hasn't been invited.
2) Maybe it's because of his Farsi. Maybe Carlos doesn't fully trust him on the field because of understanding among his teammates. It could be the reason why Queiroz hasn't invited Davari either.

i agree completely. I think it's a combination of those 2 theories actually
At that time there was very little choice. He was invited in case Haghighi got injured. He didn't get any playing time because he has proven in his past performances that he can't compete on the international stage.

So we had no other keepers beyond our first two other than Davari?
I went to Sharif University. I'm a superior genetic mutation, an improvement on the existing mediocre stock.
Beitashour started and played I think every game for Whitecaps this season, who were one of the best teams in the MLS. I am not sure why he isn't getting invited.. He played a few matches for TM, when our lineups were constantly changing and experimental. He is a good player and very intelligent. His defending is a bit different than our current RB's, he sort of invites players in and gives space, and forces them to make a mistake. Maybe Carlos doesn't like that, or because his offensive ability is almost non-existent and compared to Vouria or Ramin. Overall he has decent crosses and seems to have a good attitude, I would really like to know why he doesn't get invited. Regardless, best of luck to him with his new team.
