Saint Etienne is close to reach an agreement with Wien for Beric according to french sources :

From what I read in the Rapid forums it's up to St. Etienne to accept the offer and I think they're ready to pay that fee. It seems that they are after Vedad Ibisevic aswell and he's worth 2 mio. However I think that Beric is going to leave.

Btw. the Rapid fans are not very happy with Sharifi They should be ok to trade 7 million striker Beric for a less than 1 million Sharifi

rapid fans arent gonna be happy with a straight swap, a perceived major downgrade on forward line...!!
and if they actually got 7mil for bric, then certainly they will be chasing a more high profile starting Striker and if still need more squad depth, then throw a low-ball offer Mehi's way as a back up on Rw, forward line..!!

Marko Djuricin, the other striker who was rumored to sign for Rapid and replace Beric joined Championship side Brentford on loan
So Sharifi is the ONLY option that is mentioned in the media. If they can't get Sharifi they won't have a decent striker that can replace Beric. In today's game, they lost 4-2 against a newly promoted side.

Austrian paper Kurier says Beric is almost certainly on his way to St. Etienne. But they also say Rapid has scouted several strikers, such as a Serbian who recently transfered to Braga. Number 1 option seems to be Croatian Jelic from Zilina. Rapid also consider adding no additional striker.

No word of Sharifi anymore. I think we can write this off.
