Who is this Amirhossein Reyvandi kid? He came out of nowhere and is suddenly on the verge of signing with one of the biggest Russian clubs. 19 year old left back.

Liam Tahwildaran - maybe Afghan or Iranian with that last name?
The 'w' in Tahwildaran instead of 'v' makes me lean more towards Afghan.

        Transfermarkt isn't reliable.

& his Instagram has a lot of Chilean flag comments:

Lots of young Iranian players getting a move or a trial in the Russian league.

Anyone know if Rostami is injured. He has not been in the squad for the last three games after getting his loan move (came on as a sub in his first game and then no squad the next three).

Much props to the Iranians in Sweden. They seem to be the only second generation kids who actually are encouraged by their parents to get into football.

Iranians in Sweden are more comparable to the average Iranian socio-economically.
I'm not judging, just saying that Sweden has a sizable community of Iranians who barely got diplomas in Iran, and were never in the academic excellence circuit like Iranian-Americans.

This could be true as a proportion of the respective Iranian diaspora but in absolute terms, I would bet that the number of Iranian families without a university degree who emigrated to North America would significantly outnumber those who went to Sweden. I think the bigger issue is that soccer is just not supported at the higher levels to the same degree in North America... particularly in the 80s and 90s.

Would like to note that David Garabaghi Stuckler now has a staggering 26 goals and 7 assists for Cremonese U19. Cremonese senior team is on track to be promoted to Serie A next season if they keep their current pace of performance up in the next few games. This is the second season in a row where he has broken 30+ g/A for Cremonese U19.

Farbod Samadian (19 years) was born in San Jose, Costa Rica and is the captain of their U20 national team. He recently got a call up for the U23 national team too.

He plays for Cartaginés in the Costa Rican Primera Division.

90 million people in Iran and 4 million in the diaspora, and we still have no major prospects??! Forget the academies, we need to start a fertility clinic with all of our experts here...
