^^Azmoun wouldn't have done what he did for the goal against Russia. He would have probably fallen down early.

In addition to his physical attribute, he's damn smart in the field. He's one of the smartest and fastest decision making players in TM.

he looks sharp. PAG's team won 9-1, al sadd are actually a solid team by all accounts, with a very experienced portuguese manager who spent many years managing portugal's big three clubs.

Interesting note, I was reading about taremi's turkish manager at Al Gharafa. Bulent Uygen, was apparently a very good player for galatasaray, and a solid coach for some turkish teams. He has a very interesting philosophy that he developed called TurBulent, influenced by Fatih Terim, Holger Osieck, and Carlos Ferreira. In his training system
"players alternate between performance-enhancing fitness binges and prolonged rests, the idea being that form-sapping fatigue can be meticulously scheduled against breaks in the fixture calendar." I think this is why Taremi had that knock/injury, that wasnt very serious, but prevented him from playing 90 mins for a few consecutive weeks. Now he played 90 and looked fine.

Overall, I think Taremi and PAG are going to be pretty ready for WC. It would be ideal for both to be in european environments, not necessarily because the level of coaching they would recieve would be much higher, I think these guys are getting really professional training, facilities, playing alongside some quality players. But, QSL as a league does not challenge them enough (see Morteza's 9-1), and the only challenges they really get are in ACL. This is likely more of an issue for PAG than Taremi.

Taremi's one touch and immediate reaction has improved a lot. Good to see him continuously on target.

Rafiei will be leaving al Khor and heading back to iran. Disappointing that he still refuses to go to europe (Panionios and belgian teams were interested just last year). Dont think he can go to PP with their transfer ban, so I wonder where he will end up ? Maybe back to Zob ahan...

actually im pretty sure this forces PAG out as it is another foreign player. Currently they have Baghdad Bounedjah, Jugurtha Hamroun, PAG, just signed Jung Woo Young (Korean CM, form Vissel Kobe), and now Gabi. Thats 5 players and the max is 4 slots. They wont be moving Bounedjah, so its between hamroun and PAG. But I also read that PAG's contract expired so idk if this even applies to him.

Ebrahimi is on fire oh my... What a game!!

Also from the highlights it seems like Khanzadeh played very well... Poor Al Sadd always struggles against Iranians
