We can still finish 1st in the group, so everything's pretty wide open still.Originally posted by Bessos View PostThe winner of this match will face Iran in knock-out stage.
Having said that, a Tahiti win here could be very bad for TM, because Brazil may be tempted to lose their match to Spain by the exact socre that makes Brazil finish 2nd in order to avoid Russia. And there's no scenario under which Iran-Brazil can go through in that order any more, so it would have to be Spain-Brazil.
Chances of gauv-bandi are REALLY REALLY high at this point.

You nailed it. Brazil would be smart to avoid Russia and I have a feeling we will be served a cruel fate. How they don't have more than 1 facility to play matches at the same time baffles me.Originally posted by Bi-honar View PostWe can still finish 1st in the group, so everything's pretty wide open still.

Having only one facility is not the big issue. The issue is that Spain-Brazil have many hours to prepare whatever sneaky business they want to perform. The game of Spain-Brazil should at the very least have taken place RIGHT AFTER the Mexico-Iran game. Instead of having 2 other matches inbetween them.Originally posted by O-ZoNe View PostYou nailed it. Brazil would be smart to avoid Russia and I have a feeling we will be served a cruel fate. That is the main issue. If your logic was the case, what is stopping Brazil, Spain, and Mexico calling each other the night before the match and doing as you sayOriginally posted by Bessos View PostHaving only one facility is not the big issue. Remember Mexico had nothing to gain from the Iran match as it was all but guaranteed they were out. None of these what ifs and potential cheating would be possible if the matches were played simultaneously. And even in this case it were possible, it would be very difficult to cheat as the score in 1 match can change instantly...ask Tiraxtur Sazi about that

If Spain beats Brazil by 2+ goals Iran and Spain will go through I believe.Originally posted by Bi-honar View PostWe can still finish 1st in the group, so everything's pretty wide open still.

Brazil vs Spain starting now:

This game is very important for Iran.
If Brazil wins, it ensures qualification for Iran.
If Spain wins by a certain score, Iran will not get to the knockout stage.
