I don't see what the problem is. He has retired from Team Melli and will be turning 35 in several months. In fact, playing in Qatar not only gets him easy money, it gives him more time to dedicate to his coaching profession (should he choose to go down that route).Originally posted by Bi-honar View PostAnd in the most exciting (and unfortunately most likely rumors to materialize) our dear El Capitano may be joining Al-Shahania in the Qatar 2nd division for a staggering $300,000 USD:
در حالی که جواد نکونام در لیست خروجی اوساسونا قرار گرفته، گفته می شود با پیشنهاد جدی الشحانیه قطر مواجه شده است.
I don't know about you guys, but it has always been my dream to see 3 current and recent TM regulars playing in 2nd division Qatar!

if true i am speechless
IRI's politics is no different than handling a pressure cooker ..... As the pressure builds up, you slowly let the steam out just a tad bit so that you don't see overflow, and once the pressure from below is less, you put the lid down again and raise the temperature.

He made a mistake. He could wait for a better deal from a 3rd Division Qatari team...Originally posted by Bi-honar View PostAnd in the most exciting (and unfortunately most likely rumors to materialize) our dear El Capitano may be joining Al-Shahania in the Qatar 2nd division for a staggering $300,000 USD:

Seriously, a major down grade. He can join a better team in first division in Qatar, Kuwait or even Esteghlal.

^ omfg.
That has nothing to do with him being Israeli for Jews sake.
Standard strikers were delivering week in week out, there was no reason for giving their spot to a 2nd league striker. And Gucci showed his quality at Charlton

When Gucci joined Standard, he was on his scoring goal pattern, then this Israeli dude (I am not implying being Jewish or Israeli means down right anti Iranian as IR want us to believe) sat him on the bench and he lost his juju! Ever since he joined Standard, Gucci has been going in downhill.Originally posted by Ali.Karimi79 View Post^ omfg.

Or could it be because they had a guy in his young 20s who was on better form than Gucci (can't remember his name, but it was a black guy) and had interest from many big clubs, in other words, they had a player better than Gucci in that position.Originally posted by PersianLegion View PostWhen Gucci joined Standard, he was on his scoring goal pattern, then this Israeli dude (I am not implying being Jewish or Israeli means down right anti Iranian as IR want us to believe) sat him on the bench and he lost his juju! His name is Michy Batshuayi. He is and was a pretty good player. Scores a decent amount of goals. Probably will be a good player in Europe in the next couple of years.Originally posted by Camran khan View PostOr could it be because they had a guy in his young 20s who was on better form than Gucci (can't remember his name, but it was a black guy) and had interest from many big clubs, in other words, they had a player better than Gucci in that position.

1 - I thought CQ had submitted his name to be his assistant for TM. If he's thinking of a move to Qatar, the TM thing is obviously not happening. His guidance and leadership would have been valuable in the camp in light of recent events.
2 - I find it quite embarrassing that three of our fixed/regular players in the World Cup (just a year ago) and Asian Cup (just a few months ago) may be playing (or worse yet are only good enough to be playing) in 2nd division Qatar next year.
That's all beside the point that $300k is not exactly a lot of money for a footballer these days.

That was his first contract with SJ Earthquake Camran.Originally posted by Camran khan View PostWasn't it discussed before that he made like 50k? Or was that at his old club?
Like American Baseball, the collective bargaining agreement between players and the owners makes it so that new players make very little.
During law school in my sports law class, we worked with a couple of baseball teams on their offers to minor league players and new players, and these guys made almost nothing. Even new players who became stars in their first year or two and were really good we're making peanuts. Then their contracts grew exponentially after their first 2 years. It's actually a really complicated process that has to go to an arbitration court if the player and team cannot agree on the salary. It's pretty crazy. European soccer is run on a completely different system though.
