He sure was. Nigerians really thought that we are total pushovers and had planned to finish us off in the first half hour. Little did they know a Concrete Wall was awaiting them. You could see the frustration in their faces as the game went on that they knew they would never be able to score against us.

What also made me proud that day was that due to CQs training and conditioning, our boys actually out ran the physically stronger Nigerians and towards the end of the game they were totally out of Gas while our boys were still going strong.

you forgot, demba ba and ozkayup also signed with shanghai... they are really trying to become a big league, but they have got it all wrong, first they need to focus on domestic development (like j.league) than go and buy big players

I agree. Just check the top scorers in the Chinese league. Most of them are foreigners. They are following the same path as England.

youth development is on the way CSL had forced clubs to invest at least 5m USD a year in youth development and clubs like Guangzhou Evergrande and Shandong Luneng already has biigest football academy across asia, but you need patient to wait for the youth programme to develope good players

China dropped a ton of cash into developing football recently if I'm not mistaken. We'll see how they stand in a few decades

Mansourian, attended Naft's practice for the 1st time yeterday. He definitely has his work cut-out for him in the next 6 weeks. Beira's most likely leaving and going to Tractor.

P.S. Good news is that it looks like Mobali will be staying with Naft.

P.P.S. And Sadeghian has also joined Naft, but they have lost Padovani to Sepahan - Sadeghi or Hesseini (or both) are being discussed as replacements.

Luiz adriano ended up going to Ac milan. If al ahli don't sign any big players naft probably have a good chance to get to the semis.

Naft have signed Hosseini and their transfers are completed... Carlos Santos, Mehdi Momeni, Aloys Nong round up the rest of the list.

Looks like they're going to have a pretty decent line-up going in the AFC quarters. Can't wait.

Yeah, I think the overall combination of transfers in is MUCH better than transfers out. I'm still a bit concerned though the average age of their players in the central part of the filed (vs. left right) is pretty high - Sadeghian is the only young guy in the bunch with Ezzati next @ 28-29.
