by the way, I love how we are like the only stable country in the region. All these countries are begging us to take them in.

Afghanis were always looking with suspicion toward Iranian football fans, but after that Iran U23 vs Afghanistan U23 and 70k Afghanis coming to fill Azadi stadium, Some are wishing for their matches to be played in Iran. I am OK with Afghanistan using some of our facilities and security plus their refugee compatriots can have some fun but they should pay for minimum service facility expenses and their team plus the guest team accommodations. We only provide the the facility, security and local fan base. Good luck to them. Hopefully this mends some misunderstandings between us.

Iraq is now a different country from what it was after the toppling of the Baathist regime and Saddam Hussein, just like Germany right now than compared to Germany 70 years ago. Things change! This is just purely politics and history...Originally posted by TheBoss View Postwe should host syria or afghanistan not iraq.
Syria was the only arab country that helped us during the war. iraqi's started that war...
Iranians are one of the most hospitable people in the world and we should be accepting of anyone regardless of their religion or race. If Iraq and Syria or really any country is in a desperate situation to play their football in peace, they should be allowed to play in Iran regardless of what happened in past games or whatever sort of rivalry.
Both Iraqi and Iranians football fans need learn how to respect and adequately cope with each other. Yes I heard a lot of insults towards us Iranians from Iraqis and I have heard vice versa. These issues are dragging our society behind and we need to avoid this for the future.

I beg you stay far away from this argument as a neutral PFDC member. It doesn't go in a good direction... Why mixing politics here again?
Forget about the fucking war. Both nations had a proximity war without realising in the first place.
One year prior to the islamix revolution the CEO of OPEC Jamshidi, said that IF Iran and Iraq would unite, both could easily rule the world.
12 months later hell broke loose exactly between these 2 countries.
I am referring to fvcking Asian Cup.IRI's politics is no different than handling a pressure cooker ..... As the pressure builds up, you slowly let the steam out just a tad bit so that you don't see overflow, and once the pressure from below is less, you put the lid down again and raise the temperature.

I havent. Now Iran has its sh*t together comparably and Iraq begs us to bail them out of Daesh and hosting. If Iraq uses Iran to host and we get them in the next stage, we get an extra homegame.Originally posted by KC McElroy View PostDon't forget those 8 years.
Best chance of revenge. Show up to each game rooting for the other team. If Thailand/Indonesia/Vietnam go forward instead it will be a perfect korkori moment for us.

Are you defending Iraqi goal keeper reaction, their captain bad behavior on and off pitch and his bs talks, or Abd Zahra doping and dishonesty, how about Iraqi football federation ignoring the emails from IFF regarding the doping case, or Iraqis reaction after the match on social media? Are you Iranians btw?Originally posted by Ali.Karimi79 View Post

I get that we have to be the bigger man here. we always have been. but has anyone ever asked arabs to stop being racist? does anyone ever call them out for killing Iranians, calling us Majoosi and safavi and thousand other names? what good gesture have they EVER shown toward us? what have they done for us?
before the revolution shah was building dams for free in northern africa. IR sends billions to Lebanon, Syria, Iraq and Palestine every year. We have always helped them but they have done nothing but to wage war against us, killing millions of our people, using poisonous gas against us and on and on.
Again, I ask you, What have they done for us?

To be honest I don't care either. It is the past, but I don't want our football federation give them favor or pay for their accommodation while not helping our own national team. That is the case. Those arguments are just to let them know where they are standing. Seriously I don't want to talk about Iraq. We need to focus on our own team future and qualifiers.Originally posted by Bessos View PostI simply don't care anymore what happened.

No one will disagree with you about this. IR paying those countries is their own fault. A lot of Arabs have an inferiority complex toward Iran. I played soccer with some guys my age (21-25 among them). They admittedly loved Iran and spoke of our great game versus Argentina. They kept commenting about how our team is always tall and strong and scrappy.Originally posted by TheBoss View PostI get that we have to be the bigger man here. we always have been. but has anyone ever asked arabs to stop being racist? does anyone ever call them out for killing Iranians, calling us Majoosi and safavi and thousand other names? what good gesture have they EVER shown toward us? what have they done for us?

We have more people and the potential to do much if we have the right government. Think of all the spending Qatar/Saudi/UAE do as overcompensation for this complex. I cant be the only one who thinks Iran hosting Iraqs games is humiliating for Iraq.
