Could someone please explain what happened with his age? I didn't keep up with Iranian football back in the early 2000s. Thanks.

It's amazing how we'll throw one of our own under the bus just to attain the most minuscule amount of entertainment and pleasure.
exactly, this guy had so much gheyrat, he played his heart out whenever he started for TM. Although he is a Khuzestani with Arabic roots he played with more passion than most of the "true" Persians in TM. Never forget he was loyal as f*ck when some Emiratis tried to insult the other TM players in Arabic..:

So it is absolutely no sign of greatness to make him looking bad after his career!

You make it seem like he is like one of these foreigners like Zlatan, Ozil etc in Sweden/Germany. Dude is Iranian, period. Doesn't matter if he is Arab from Khuzestan or Persian, his country is still Iran. You make it seem that he originally is not Iranian.

He lied about his age. When he first started playing for TM, he claimed he was 16 when in fact he was much older. Then when he was put aside from TM during Ghotbi's era he went public and announced he had lied about his age all those years.

He could have kept his mouth shut and every thing would have been fine. But he wanted to spite everyone for being kicked out of TM.

Is there any proof of him lieing about his age?

There is no proof. He jokingly said in an interview that he was 40 when he was 20 and people actually believed it. He started in TM so young that it seemed like he was around a long time.

One of the Best TM full backs Ever..!
Like younger Ando the lil dude would battle it out @ full speed and energy for 90 min. Straight every game.

Just that he was too short & lightweight, otherwise he coulda muster a pretty decent European career too..! After WC 06 he got a transfer to Leceiter in English championship but like Reza he just wasn't suited for that league & hardly got even one game & then shipped back after half a season.

He called out Ghotbi for his constant chaaploosi & khayemali of IFF heads & got dropped from gholaabi's TM & by the time CQ took over his league form had dipped & perhaps his real age finally caught up with him too ..!?

I liked & miss that feisty lil dude

He was great playing for TM. The right side of the field from goal to goal was fully covered by him. We need to respect him as a TM soldier regardless of the jokes he made or others made. Please do not smear his character with simply nothing.

From his last Interview in Ahwaz last month.
He still dream playing for Foulad !.

He was one of the best players to wear a tm jersey imo. I miss how he gave it all and his fighting spirit in WC2006. Something which I have to add is greatly non existent in tm today..! And we dont have a player like that... Unfortunately!

Kaebi was always a ba gheyrat player and like a warrior in the pitch. I have too much respect for him except his age issue. We don't need to resort to that and we are not like Iraqis.

I remember how he played in world cup 2006.

Yes, specially with that Karate kick he received.

Here is the highlights of the match where Kaebi saves the goal in 1:30. Mr gol nazan (Khatibi) lost a 100% goal in 2:49

Time flies by almost 10 years past. Wow
