I dont see the need to invite Iraq. Its just a gateway to playing the teams we hate again. If we want to invite other teams besides the ones that are in the CAFF we can pick strong teams to make it an eight team tournament. Two groups of four. The top two of each group go to play in semifinals.
If we were to pick two from the following : Armenia,Azerbaijan, Georgia, Russia, Turkey, we would have a tournament with much higher quality than WAFF, which could prepare us adequately for Asian qualifying.
It is not even selfish of us because countries like Afghanistan, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan, get to play teams that will raise their level of play(Iran/Uzbek/and the others).

No matter what we think of Iraq politically, their inclusion in CAFF is only good. We cannot compare Iraq to Tajikistan in terms of football. They play fast and technical soccer. And from what I have seen they don't seem to grass roll like the rest of PG Arabs.

Central Asian Football Federation (CAFF)
Iraq is not part of CAFF. There is a reason why we left the Arabs of West Asia, why would we have another Arab team back in?
And a big lol to those who say Iran and Iraq share cultural similarities, as well as talent in football.
Iraq's greatest Ahmed Yasin is riding the bench in the third division of England.
And now stop bringing up Iraq, because they have no business in CAFF.

ISIS don't represent Iraq, they are a different entity. I obviously meant the Iraqi government being run from Baghdad, are the ones who represent the real Iraq.Originally posted by irani1378 View Postyes you are right we definetly see eye to eye with isis, aren't those guys great? its not like they want to chop of our heads..

Iraq is now a different country from what it was before which is now more loyal to Iran after 2003, just like Germany right now than compared to Germany 70 years ago. Things change! This is just purely politics...

Yes we really saw how close they are to us in the 80s.Originally posted by Mir Javad View PostUnlike other countries in the region, Iraq is not entirely an Arab country. There are various ethnic and also religious groups in Iraq. If you look at the history, Iraq unlike other countries has been historically been quite close to Iran even long back before Islam even came to Iran, like even during the Achaemenid, Parthian and Sasanian times. Iraq has historically been apart of Greater Iran, and many Iraqis and also Iranians have ancestry from both countries.
Even few of Iran's historic capitals before Islam have even been based in Iraq. There are many cultural and historical similarities between the two countries. We just can't hide and drop the Iraqi Babylonian link and even links as recent as the Islamic Middle Ages.
Also their football is also quite unique and talented compared to other countries in the region and they don't play like the Persian Gulf Arab nations, who import their players from other places. I wouldn't mind Iraq joining the CAFA and in future Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Armenia and Georgia would also be a great addition.

And Iraq is the only exception: With the country being divided to two parts; of course Kurdistan and the new Iraq can participate.Originally posted by khodam View PostIt's a two way street. Kurdistan is another Iranic region and is Central Asian...
However, till then, I think we should focus on the main 6 non UEFA Central Asian countries ...

Exactly ...
We should focus on advertising for this new federation... I am sure with Uzbakistan and Iran being there, they would at least give one qualification slot to this federation ...
Now, we have to find the means and strategies to convince IFF or attempting to facilitate such dream ...
I suggest two immediate actions:
1- Contacting our Central Asian brothers and sisters with full respect and ask them to join a common forum. Uzbeks are far more discriminated in AFC and they like the idea.
2- Mass e-mailing the IFF to show how the fan would like to separate from AFC...
If we let this cool off, in no time, we reach 2019 and we will see another corrupted referee ending our chances in Asian Cup (even if it is in Iran. It will be in UAE anyways; there for sure they decapitate our team).
Also, Saeed Naro jaan and others; the whole point is to focus on the Central Asia. Let us not bring others in this picture; countries like Pakistan and Russia are not and cannot be part of this federation. This is not to have more games.
We have to see what our main goal is:
MAIN GOAL: TO EXIT AFC; not participate in joke tournament of AFC cup of nations AND FORM A NEW FEDERATION .....
To get to this goal, we should contact and reach for countries in the same region...
These are Central Asian countries that are not part of UEFA:
1- Iran 2- Uzbekistan 3- Afghanistan 4- Turkmenistan 5- Kyrgyzstan 6- Tajikistan 7- Mongolia (can be debated- can be invited)
One thing that is a no no no to these nations: No Arab countries. All mentioned countries except Mongolia are Iranic Turkic countries and have similar cultures.
Countries like Armenia, Kazakhstan, Georgia. Azerbaijan and .. are part of UEFA and do not join CCAF federation. We can leave it as a voluntary nomination for these countries. But any country outside of this diagram will open the same POO hole which makes it a AFC's target...
With one country to join, there will be 8 teams that can fight for 4 semis and 1 team to qualify directly to the world cup.... And of course there will be Central Asian Cup of nations every for years

Also maybe many dont know this but Iraq's relations with PERSIAN Gulf Arab countries is very shit.. especially with Saudi, there hasnt been a Saudi embassy in baghdad since 1991.Originally posted by khodam View PostIt's a two way street.
