All my uhlsports gear from TM and PP for the past 2-3 years have come from Romario sports.

They are perfectly good quality and I'm happy with them.. not to mention cheap.

I bought two jersies, a white and red world cup jersey for 300 dirhams...less than $100 and its completely authentic.

I cant comment on shady practices or corruption or what not....but I can tell you that the quality is good.

You have a point, I haven't compared it to any supposed "originals". But I have a couple of real madrid jersey's from adidas and the qualities are comparable.
