Japan played 2 friendlies vs.Venezuela 2-2 and Uruguay 0-2 and we played none

so Japan should really be #1 in Asia

Perfect, if we don't play any game during the next 12 months, we could probably aim for the 1st spot!

Japan played 2 games and lost one, drew the other. This will result in a negative amount of points (point will be deducted.)
Iran didn't play any games, so nothing will happen to our points. Simple as that!

If this result was based on the strength of teams we wouldn't even be in the top 3 of Asia.

^I don't think that anyone has claimed that this ranking is about strength.
Uefa's club rankings also have nothing to do with strength, but are indications of the recent results achieved in eufa's tournaments.

I did see that post. It's wrong as we would only finish first in Asia by not playing if everyone else in Asia played AND lost their games.

And you absolutely can with FIFA rankings as it ranks you based on games you play and results you get.
