Although leaving Örgryte after his contract ended, Atashkadeh has resigned with them:



"Atashkadeh has extended with Öis - despite injury: "Do not want to push him"

The contract expired at year-end.

Now William Atashkadeh has extended with Örgryte.

"He has signed a contract with us over the summer," said chairman Joacim Nordh to GP.

William Atashkadeh's contract with Örgryte expired at the turn of the year. Now the striker, who is rehabilitating from a knee injury that he incurred at the end of last season, signed a new contract with the club, reports GP.

William Atashladeh left Örgryte as a free agent. He was also recently injured again:

I've always liked this guy as a person, regardless of how unfit he was for Team Melli.. Hope he kills it for the Philippines

He scored the wining goal for his team (Ceres Negros) vs Australian club, Brisbane Roars, in AFC champions league. It is the first time a Filipino team goes that far in ACL. Their next match is vs Chinese 4th team Tianjin Quanjian. If they defeat that team they will reach to group stage of ACL east division.

Q. Let’s talk a little about you, you were born in Sweden and have Filipino and Iranian heritage, that’s quite an eclectic mix!
Yeah, my Mum is from the Philippines and my Dad is from Iran but I’m born and raised in Sweden. I’m proud of my roots. I was travelling to both Philippines and Iran, I’ve been (travelling) here since a young age and back home they talk in their own languages, so I understand both of the languages. And the culture, not too much but of course growing up they taught us some. It’s a little mix of everything – Swedish, Filipino and Iranian.

Q. You were called up a few times to play for Iran, but it’s still possible to switch to play for the Philippines. Where is your international future at?
I got called up in 2012 a few times, and for now that’s the biggest thing I’ve done in my career – representing one of my parent’s countries. For now I’m just focusing on Ceres and if that time comes that I can choose to change national teams then if it’s still possible I’ll have to take it if it comes. But for now I’m just thankful I got to play for the Iranian national team and I’ll always remember that.

Q. Of course you’re not the only Filipino with Iranian heritage, [Philippines national team striker] Misagh Bahadoran also has Iranian heritage. How well do you know Misagh, you would’ve played together last year at Global FC, correct?
Yeah, we’re good friends, he’s a nice guy. Every now and then we talk, he just moved to Malaysia. Whenever we talk we talk in our language, in Farsi. That’s the connection we have from Iran. He’s a nice guy."

Amin Nazari (recently on loan from Malmö FF to Norwegian Fredrikstad) seems to be headed to newly promoted Swedish Allsvenskan club Jönköping Södra. A team that won the second tier head and shoulder above everybody else. I think Nazaris initial contract is going out with Malmö and since they're revamping with a new manager, not really considered a _superyoung_ talent and having to beat out NT players like Oscar Lewicki, he's looking for a new club where he'll get more opportunity to show his skills in the midfield.

Should this happen we'll have young players like Amin Nazari in J-Södra and maybe Saman Ghoddos (+ Brwa Nouri if he considers himself Iranian) in Östersunds FK, both teams newly promoted to the top league in Sweden.
