I don't think Carlos Queiroz should be evaluated after the Asian Cup, no pressure. He has already proven his abilities as a coach by qualifying a mediocre Iranian team for the world cup. If anything the Asian Cup should be a platform for Queiroz and his men to build a new team for the world cup in Russia (as South Korea for example Always does). I believe Nekounam, Shojaei, Hosseini, Sadeghi, Heydari should all be retired for the Asian Cup, with the exception of Teymourian and Montazeri. The Asian Cup would be a great experience for these guys and the result should not matter that much, but the new team will slowly be formed as it is all about qualifying for the next world cup and Queiroz is the right man for the job. Give this man the next four years to work in peace, and we will have a better world cup than the previous one, with talents such as Ezzatolahi, Jahanbakhsh and Azmoun ready to be the leading players.

Dont expect any defensive changes for the asian cup. Montazeri at rb and the hosseini sadeghi combo in theiddle with pooladi on the left. I just hope we just see more of jahanbaksh and azmoun and less of shojaei and dejagah(fucked himself by going to the gutter)

And this is how it should be. Remember this is Asia, no longer the world...we should be top 3 or 4 in Asia as it is indicative of where we would stand in order to qualify for 2018 as well.Originally posted by pdot View PostThe real question is whether CQ deserves to be TM manager if he disappoints at AC. Anything below semifinals in my opinion is a disappointment. In reality a finals appearance will make most fans happy. A championship will get him to be our manager until end of WC 2018.

IMO its not realistic to expect us getting to the SF or final this tournament simply because the lack of ambition by our players and all the wasted months of preparation. Keep in mind that this is also one of the weakest squads we will be sending to this editions Asian Cup, I wonder how you all raise your expectations so high?
I hope I'm bloody wrong but with most of our players in Qatar and our striker in Kuwait I don't have high hopes. CQ has no influence here and he should not be blamed for our players making such downgrade moves.

As weak as our squad is it's still superior to Qatar, UAE, Bahrain and Iraq's squad. If we loose in group stage or in QF to Iraq it will be probably the worst result in our football in recent times along with the Lebanon loss. CQ has no rights for any mistakes in this tournament, it's pretty much do or die for him, IFF will probably fire him in case of any failure there.Originally posted by Kiarash View PostIMO its not realistic to expect us getting to the SF or final this tournament simply because the lack of ambition by our players and all the wasted months of preparation.
