According to Transfmarkt he has been released, yet he is still on Livorno's website. Wonder if he will go back to Genoa? Don't think they will want him. He couldn't even get a game in Serie B last year.

Quick update on Rafati: he hasn't been in the squad for one month now. Looks like he still can't break through in Serie B either, at least not yet.

Livorno lost 2-0 to Bari last week, Rafati on the bench for the full 90 mins.

Up tomorrow: Livorno vs. Brescia 20:30 CET.

BTW: Just found out that he is half-Iranian. His dad is Iranian and his mom Italian, to be precise.

All I said is that other than having an Iranian last name, we don't have anything that tells us he wants to represent tm. I'm not saying he doesn't want to, I'm just saying he hasn't showed anything. And that doesn't mean having an interview to tell ppl that or anything like that, I'm just saying aspiring footballers usually show some type of interest in their national team, we haven't seen anything from this kid.

Again, I will root for him and hope for the best from him, all I'm doing is simply keeping an open mind about possibilities which is something I clarified in my most recent response and if you so chose to ignore that and call it disrespectful than we have different definitions of disrespect.
This is such a double edged sword. If he comes out and says "FAGHAT IRAN" then we all say wow he is "unprofessional, desperate, OMG we don't need foreigners in TM" and the usual BS. If he doesn't say anything like the thousand other international players in this world, we say "where is his Persian pride, TM is only for gheyrati players, and he is no Ali Daie"....It's not up to him to be invited to TM, it's up to IFF...but if we support him, chances of him being ignored are slim, and should he then get a deserved invite based on his play and decide to ignore us and and the IFF invitation to TM...then we will know where he stands...until then, he is a possible candidate to join our beloved TM playing abroad. That is about all we know and should know about him.
