Well, Yeah they got out with Iran.

This is very hypothetical by the way. I'm not even sure you can have a group like that with all the seedings.

Mine is this. Picture the scene. It's the 2018 World Cup in Russia. Iran has incredibly won their second match of the group against greece 1-0, after narrowly losing their first match to Brazil 2-1.

Its do or die in the third match. We are so close to the next round, yet so far. Brazil is comfortably in control at 3-0 against Greece.

Meanwhile IRAN is keeping it 0-0 with 10 minutes to go against Ivory Coast. A point is all we need to qualify for the next round which has already been decided to be against England.

Iranian fans can almost relax with only two minutes of stoppage time.

The Ivorians are getting desperate. Girvinho starts dribbling past a few players from the left wing and puts in a hopeful corner into the box.

Time stands still. As Pouraliganji is a step behind Bony, he fails to stop the Ivorian getting the ball past beirandvand and into the net.

I messed up, that's Markar Aghajanyan. I had a brain fart and thought it was Dan Gaspar. Thanks for catching that. Still cool to see TM staff celebrating like that.

Oh man, it's almost 2 years past, time flies. What a day it was, overwhelming and exciting, a proud defeat I shall call it!

Ando absolutely is the most patriotic and compassionate TM player ever. Remember him in 2006 WC, after bowing out of the WC lying down on the pitch and crying for minutes? He will be dearly missed once he hangs his boots!

sirum yem k’yez Ando my hamvatan!

close but no cigar..!! story of a TM fan..!!

i was left, simply emotionally drained after the Iraq loss..!! even more so than the Argentina's last gasp loss..!!
just turned off the TV immediately after the missed PK and sat there in state of shock..!
i think because that game had so many freaking high and lows and took sooooo long..!!? i'd imagine, it must have been a treat for neutral viewer..!!?

I am still heartbroken and tears come up whenever I think about everything that happened at the Asian Cup.

Sometimes I just wonder why do I have so much passion for our team, it's unreal.

Why we always have to end up crying??!!! Why do refs rob us of glory?? If we beat Argentina with that penalty or even drew, we would all be smiling with pride! if that crack head Ben Williams did his job professionally and not awareded a 2nd yellow to a player who was PUSHED by the opposing player we would have smiles on our face! yet, We always seem to have tears.....This is why I get depressed.
